This one is actually YJ Parks sculpt. It's one of my favourite Bruce Lee sculpts I know of.

thanks; appears they will be up for preorder next week as they couldn't handle the traffic; just read it on the fb page!

Pre order Wednesday July 24th, or Wednesday July 31st? Was "next week" this week, or next week next week? I'm a bit confused :D

These aren't blank expressions, & I think Arnie Kim did a brilliant job on them. That's Bruce Lee right there.

Good point and well spotted, I should of said most of his sculpts. :slap

The FOF one doesn't look blank because the eyes are looking sideways and are alined unlike the statue's one that are not alined but crooked. Look in this pic below with the eyes facing straight (well.. slightly looking up) it looks quite blank.

The FoF calm sculpt is one of Kim's best imo. In fact looking at his entire Bruce Lee portfolio, the range of expressions is pretty diverse and I can't recall a 'blank stare' among them :dunno

I agree, maybe blank was the wrong word. I don't know if I look at the version A ETD head sculpt by Enterbay I would say that has a neutral expression, maybe that is the right word to use. :dunno

Not really sure what people see in this statue that makes them think it's a lifeless/blank expression. It looks like it was taken out of a movie still or something. It's obviously supposed to be him staring down his opponent or something along those lines. Makes me wonder if people think that in a boxing match you should have a Joker smile on or a 300 yelling face.

Yeh, neutral is a better word, I hear ya. When I think of blank stares I think about a lot of HT releases, sadly. Too many cool characters with stunned mullet expressions. It can't just be down to the talent approval, their artists would have to own a lot of that aesthetic.

Yeah you are right, I just guess maybe people want a yelling face or something. :dunno

Yeah so all I was trying to say that Arnie is usually better at doing those type of expressions than his yelling ones or fighting ones. Nevertheless, he nailed that smiley one though.

Yeah that is so true.

Maybe "neutral" is a better description, but I understood what Dark was going for. This Arnie Kim sculpt has a good likeness, which is in a somewhat neutral expression. Not sure why I didn't really pay that much attention to this sculpt before, it's actually one of his best sculpts to capture Bruce Lee's likeness. How did I overlook this? :slap

Maybe we'll see some of his better work on future products.

Exactly.
No questions, Bruce had a lot of trademark screaming expressions but this statue is about this tense moment when combatants look at each other right before the clash. It's like a moment before the great storm. Absolutely love the moment they've captured here. And genius work by Arnie Kim (though when it comes to Bruce Lee you can't count on anything else with him).
