So around the time of the first 1/3 Bruce, ^you^ were mentioning a new Bruce piece coming.
Then this is the piece.
Any word if another Bruce piece is planned?

Blitzway is a Korean company right?
Hopefully Arnie Kim feels more comfortable here and stays on for 5 more years to complete the Bruce Lee line.

Although I've never seen the Enterbay 1/4 scale ETD statue, in the pictures i've seen, I was mighty impressed with the 'sweat' effect that the artists used on the skin...something which I'm also hoping to see done well on this Blitzway piece :) subtle touches as sweat certainly adds realism and depth to the overall look of the piece
For sure man, its one of the things that really sold me. I hope it comes out looking amazing too bro

Lol, I don't know if I'm more excited about getting Bruce or the little mirror project floating around in my head... Perhaps both, in all kinds if places, at the same time :lol

The Blitway GoD statue is epic .....the face is a little bit too wide but I don't know about the rest of you guys but I display PFs on top of bookcases so they're about 2 meters off the ground and I'm looking up at them.
Currently he stands between the Indy Temple PF and the Arnie Conan PF and he towers over both and just looks amazing.
Still highly recommended.

Don't know if Blitzway will make the other 3 movies ....it's going to be a business decision as to whether there are enough people out there who will want all of them ....or are for some reason holding off now for a later one. Prices keep going up and How many people honestly are going to pay near $1000 for a 1/3 Big Boss ?

At least Bruce being a midget means 1/3 scale isn't too huge ....God help us if Blitzway pull another fast one on Enterbay and get the 1/3 NBA license

hey if any of you don't want that ugly misshapen GOD Bruce, my birthday's coming around :monkey3

:lol

I could imagine, since sideshow PFs are 1/4 scale, this statue would dwarf them.

Well since EB screwed their one up, I think blitzway should make a 1/3 Big Boss, as it is something different. However, I do see your point, I can't see many people buying a WOD statue, since only diehard Bruce Lee fans would know about that movie or care for it, not to mention EB have made so many statues and figures of WOD that it has been done to death!

At least Bruce being a midget means 1/3 scale isn't too huge ....God help us if Blitzway pull another fast one on Enterbay and get the 1/3 NBA license

Bruce was 5'7 and a half, which is a little on the short side but I wouldn't call that a midget, he was nearly as tall as Chuck Norris in WOD. He also didn't look tiny when he stood next to John Saxon in ETD, which looked about average height (5'10). But yeah it is a good thing that he is on the short side when it comes to making a 1/3 version of him because he doesn't take up as much space as another larger character would at the same scale.

If the base on the GOD was smaller he could have fitted in a detolf..as this going by the spec should .would I like all 5 films as 1/3? Yep.but cost wise and time wise (dont know ill be collecting in 3mths never mind 3yrs).EB wotd have been good but not great.blitzway would improve on it...depending on pose I think.

Those reasons you mentioned are also why I am not sure I am willing to buy one for each film but I would not say no if someone bought me everyone from all 5 films. :D

And sculpt, although EB's one is pretty good, it just doesn't capture the core likeness that Arnie captures when he sculpts Bruce. Don't get me wrong though EB's WOD does have quite a good resemblance to Bruce but does not have that wow factor Arnie sculpts have. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure not many people would want another WOD any time soon since like I said there has been too many done by EB, I think most people would probably be sick of WOD. If they were to do it they should do it with the tank top and Nunchuks, as that look can't be created on action figures nicely, since the joints are exposed.

yeah iconic nunchuk pose..having said that a BD bruce from the end fight with chuck would be good.the calm sculpt on the 1008 was pretty good
the ''action'' one was only average, compare that to this statues sculpt and there's no contest.

Oh no too many options! :panic:

Yeah wasn't bad at all but the shape of the face was too round and wide with little to no bone structure, so in a way it sort of looked like Bruce as a kid rather than an adult as the head was kind of squashy.

Also the shape of the eyes were terrible, even Rovo Jin screwed that up but his version managed to have better bone structure and thus, wasn't so soft and flat looking and the shape of the face appeared to look narrower.

Nevertheless, I think lighting and distance play a major role as it is obvious that this is Bruce Lee in this close up pic.

That's true and you are right that 1008 doesn't hold a candle to this statue because you can clearly tell it is Bruce, whereas the 1008 action sculpt could be anyone.

With arnie on board blitzway are on to a winner.EB days as the place for bruce lee figure/statue collectibles are maybe on the way out.

ha well I'm exaggerating a little for fun but 5'7" to me is EXTREMELY short (I'm 6'3" and my wife is slightly taller than Bruce)
But yeah, I was just meaning in context of statue sizing scale ....if you keep up with Sideshow's PF line, you'll have noticed they are moving to much larger, much taller bases recently and more and more of their 1/4 line is coming in around 70cm ....which is the same size as the GoD and new EtD statue !

I don't own any Bruce Lee statues/figues. The closest I came was the Hot Toys DX but never pulled the trigger. These two efforts from Blitzway are on a different level. I really like the look of the GOD statue, the yellow tracksuit, the addition of the nunchaku and the wooden base looks fantastic. But ETD is the iconic look for me. This statue looks bang on, the body sculpt and proportions of Lee's chest and arms at this period. The lightness of feet is captured just right.

With so much exposed flesh the paint job will make or break it. One flat skin tone will move it into doll territory. Lets hope Blitzway are able to keep the production pieces as faithful to the proto as possible.
