thanks for posting the pics steve.

No worries, I think the battle scar decals make this look more like painted stripes (due to the simplicity and symmetry), rather than claw marks or cuts. Whereas when the scars are repainted asymmetrically (with some having more blood dripping off them than others), the statue overall looks more realistic. However, what really ruins it is the sweat applications, I can't get over those big blobs. Like the head sculpt is brilliant in these pictures but those horrible globs really ruin it IMO.

I find it strange that the head sculpt looks like a different color to that pale yellowish body in these pictures. My friend says the paint job on the sculpt is really good but the paint job on the body is very plane.

I know what you mean.the head is painted a darker tone compared to the body(unlike the EB's),but yeah regarding the decal cuts, they do look kinda fake(their fake in the movie I know:lol) but the repaint gives them a more ''movie feel''.and a even better sweat app brings this up a level.looking at those pics I'm tempted to get mine redone....I'd be much happier with it looking like that.

I didn't know that, I just thought it was painted better but in those pics I posted, the head looks like a totally different color to the body. I assume it isn't that noticeable in hand though right?

I already thought, you were going to get yours done, I thought that was always the plan, since you know someone that can fix it. If I were you though I would leave the cuts alone and just get them repainted, way too much effort sanding them down.

I'd be much happier with it looking like that.

I think most people would be, if I knew someone that could paint, I would probably get mine done to because if it wasn't for these flaws, this would be the best Bruce Lee statue IMO.

Great pic Shoo, it looks fine from a distance, skin color looks normal there to but people tell me it is too pale, I am not sure what to believe but the GOD one does have a better or darker tan, going by that pic. BTW Shoo I know this is off topic but are you getting that Hellraiser Pinhead PF?

Er, I'll say it's off topic! I mean, whatever made you think of that? Is the paleness the connection? :p

No, I don't think I am. It's cool and all, but there's too much cooler stuff coming soon from PCS, Chronicle and Prime 1. I can't get them all. :\

Only reason I asked because I was surprized you posted in that thread, I was like WTF, does Shoo like this horror stuff?

Ahh I am going off topic again, what are you getting from PCS, Chronicle and Prime 1?

they do make a great display together.despite some niggles.yes steve it was my plan, but after speaking/showing the statue to the person in question, the reply was a LOT of hassle with sanding etc.best bet was to just repaint with thicker cuts and runs in a brighter red..as those pics show.

I think they do two, especially from a distance, apparently thought the ETD is over scaled though.

Yes it but in your last post it sounded like you changed your mind and were not going to get this repainted until you saw the those pics. So I thought you were going to leave this statue as stock until you saw those pictures.

I did start to mod it (added some highlights to hair and some sweat also)toned down some sweat with powder, then got sidetracked with personal matters, and haven't got round or thought about further mods...until now.

theres some pics pages back steve with the sweat/highlights to the hair a little toning down on the sweat and some added pink/red hues to the torso(all with powder which you can rub to remove)nothing special but the hair looks better.after all the face is covered in sweat, but he has dry hair!!
page 180 steve.

Oh, I see. :) Well, yeah, I like lots of stuff and every now and then browse threads about statues that tickle my fancy, but that doesn't mean I'm buying everything from every thread I post on. I wish! :lol

Ahh I am going off topic again, what are you getting from PCS, Chronicle and Prime 1?

Well, I pre-ordered Chronicle's 1:4 endo and want to see whatever affordable pieces they release from the Jurassic Park franchise. Plus, I know they snatched some other licenses they haven't disclosed yet.

From PCS, I already have RoboCop paid for, but there's still shipping and taxes. Also looking forward to their Kessler Wolf and 1:3 Conan.

Finally, have you seen the 1:2 Ledger Joker Prime 1 teased? Probably too rich for my blood, but it looks like it'll be a spectacular piece.

Add to that Sideshow's Jason and Freddie PFs —yes, horror :p— and the fact that I don't really care that much about Pinhead and... well... something's gotta give. Actually, I will probably buy just a tiny fraction of all those.

What were YOU doing on that thread anyway? :wink1:

Chris you did an amazing job from what I see can at toning down the sweat on the body, so you just used some sort of powder? The head doesn't look any different though, the globs still look big on the sculpt in those pics.

Oh fair enough.

EX version?

Also looking forward to their Kessler Wolf and 1:3 Conan.

Yeah Conan looks like an exciting piece, using Arnold scans with acrylic eyes, sounds like a high quality statue.

Yeah I thought it was that statue, since I didn't think you were into TFs but I didn't know you were into the TDK Joker, must of not seen your post as I posted a few times in that thread. I agree it will be expensive, I wish they didn't make it 1/2 scale, if it was smaller I am sure it would less than 2 K. Kato said he is not doing the tailoring, they are only using his design of the suit, but that is practically perfect.

Add to that Sideshow's Jason and Freddie PFs —yes, horror :p— and the fact that I don't really care that much about Pinhead and... well... something's gotta give. Actually, I will probably buy just a tiny fraction of all those.

I like Pinhead and I am regretting not paying the NRD now for the EX. :(

Looking forward to the part III Freddy PF, the paint job was quite good on the other one but the pose sucked. Won't be buying another Jason PF though, I think my part III EX will suffice, although I do like the split in the new Jason PF mask though.

I just added some clear varnish to the ends of the hair to try and run into/match the blobs on the forehead rather than have dry hair/gap/sweat.looks better from a slight distance.yeah it was some model/art powder I lent a while back easy to use,and will stay on if left alone,or with some rubbing will come off.wish painting was that easy.
oh and I found that wife's powdered concealer make up she uses does the job too:lol

I am little confused so all you had to do to get rid of those thick blobs over the body was to use model art powder? So if you wanted the body back to stock with big thick blobs on the body, you just have to rub off the powder? :huh

yeah that's about it steve( I remember tyderium mention it many many posts back),some of the blobs are more like flat runs than blobs(the one down his side being the biggest) and can be ''disguised''with a similar colour match, but on the head they are quite raised that's why I tried to blend some sweat from the hair as they may have turned out like xpl0sive's thumb,if you follow.
and with a gentle rub you can get it back to stock..it's more a temporary fix but worked pretty well for me.

They sure don't look it but the main thing I guess is that you can disguise them.

That's really important because I really do like to keep my products as stock if I can, so the fact that the sweat app fixed is reversible is a big plus. :yess:

Yo, where you been man? Lol. You still keen on this statue?

Yeah I had thought about the wax to be honest, just wasn't sure what effect it would have on paint. I think the sweat might be the best option.

So frustrating. I really like this statue but Blitzway's terrible QC makes it hard to enjoy.

Yeah, hi mate, haven't been as active but still been checking in on the thread.

To be honest I'd love to have the statue. I'd get a kick out of customising it a little with improving the sweat and cuts.
Despite the cosmetic imperfections, the likeness is outstanding which is half the battle with these things.
And I also don't see something similar to this being offered again at this size, pose and likeness.

The cost is an issue for me at the moment and also concerns about PC.
I mean, they can only have so many of them in stock and we know of - is it 3 at least? - that have been returned.
Not being able to go to the store in person really means pot luck if I order as to whether I'll receive a leaning version, a stepped face seam or whatever else.
Or even one that has been returned and then repacked and sent out again.

But as far as your thumb blemish goes I think that will disappear if you apply some sheen to it or better yet, redo the sweat apps.
