alright i just picked up my PS3... any specific movies i should pick up to watch this weekend???

Casino Royale is one of my favorite reference/show off discs, as well as Crank and Apocalypto. The latest Fantastic Four looked great, as do the Pirates movies. Kingdom of Heaven, 300 and Black Hawk Down are other good looking discs. Any of those titles that interest you should be safe bets if you want to see some good picture quality. Also, Planet Earth has some fantastic nature documentary footage. If you have kids, then Open Season is one of the best looking discs I own. Chicken Little, TMNT, Happy Feet and most CGI films look really great.

I now own both so I officially don't give a poop what happens. :lol

I know the feeling. Owning only made ( HD DVD ) made me thing Blu Ray sucked and should lose :monkey3

After getting a BR player too I love it. I think the format war will be around for at least a few more years and may never go away, but I am happy to have both so I don't care ( if anyone ) wins now.

does anyone know if there are plans for a POTC blu ray boxed set??? i can get the first one free, but if they are gonna have them all in one set i might as well choose something else from the list.

I so wanna buy a 360 HD dvd player but the HD Movies are just so expensive man

I just got Heroes season 1, all 3 Mission Impossible movies, and the Ultimate Matrix Trilogy for free. Plus they are giving away 5 free movies with the purchase of a player...

I really don't think it gets cheaper than that. :lol

exactly... i tried to explain this to my roommate, but he's so cheap it blows my mind. i pointed out that you can get the external HDDVD player to work on your PC with the correct drivers and for under $200 you can get it with all that free stuff, and he kept arguing that it was still too expensive.

How are the transfers of the Terminator movies on both Blu Ray and HD DVD?

The only downside to the 360 HD DVD drive is how damn loud the system is. I didn't think about that before I bought it.

For the foreseeable future I'm sticking with Blu. I think once the Paramount/Universal Exclusivity deal is over those titles will be coming to Blu, then 'HELLO Tranformers'!! :rock

i just got my 5 free HD movies from Toshiba!

1. Casablanca
2. The Rundown
3. Spy Captain and the World of Tomorrow
4. Chronicles of Riddick
5. U571

the one i'm most excited about is casablanca. i only picked up U571 and Spy Captain because they were the best to pick up in that particular category.

LOVE rundown and chronicles.

My only real issue with Blu-Ray/HD-DVD is the copyright protection. For instance, if you hook up the Xbox 360 HD-DVD addon to your computer and install the correct drivers and use the HD version of PowerDVD you can watch an HD-DVD movie on your computer, but because of copyright restrictions they've disabled the ability to take screenshots on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, then when Transformers came out they changed the copy protection some how so that you can't play it on your computer anymore without updating your graphics drivers and getting the latest version of PowerDVD which is really annoying. And I'm still trying to figure out how to get some screenshots so I can get some new backgrounds, so far it's not working.

When did you mail out the rebate? I'm still waiting for my Xbox one and I mailed out on like August 10th.

That is why I sold mine and bought a stand alone player. It's absolutely silent and does not get hot. It is a bit slower to start up though.
