I still have 2 more unused/spare slims that I got for $25 shipped on these boards 2 years ago, so I can wait for a deal to pop up.

Jeez, how'd you manage that?? Did somebody not realize what they had or something??

Even if HT re-released them carded, it'd still be for $50. So, I don't feel too bad snagging some from Monkey Depot.

Being from a normal SSC body and not an armoured one, a narrow would definitely be ok, as would any TT body I think. I used a slim because Boba has always been really skinny looking to me, other ones are open to looking fine too though most likely. I'd be surprised if a narrow looked bad.

Here are some pictures, in the quickest cloud city diorama I could get :lol

Noooo, thats not an instagram filter on those pics, its just my crappy art camera (for use in extremely messy and camera damaging workshops in uni.. good camera is with GF atm)

I'm keen on him in the casual pose atm, but the TT slim is capable of good action poses on awkwardly armoured, heavy geared figures

BADASS!!! :clap:clap

Looks like the movie set.

Thanks Kibagami! I was surprised that random polystyrene insert matched the bespin dining room window scene so well haha

If you plan ahead you can swoop over ebay like a hawk when a hot toys figure using a slim is shipped.. Hong Kong sellers part it out a lot and will have free shipping auctions on the bodies etc, snagged a few by bidding at the last second for a cheapo price.

For the bottom plate, are people just making it rounded so it curves to the body more naturally, or are they actually making abnormal "dented" curves (not sure if the Fett armor actually has these or not)?

Even more stupid question: for water treating the braids, is the water hot, warm, cold, doesn't matter?

Water temp doesn't matter unless for something more complex I dont know about, the principle is when its wet you can pose it so when it dries it looks more natural. In the braid's case, slimmer and less fiberous

Would the Sideshow armoured body be suitable for the swap ? The only isue that I could see would be the hips on the figure. These can be had a lot cheaper and may do the job ?

It would be interesting to see what it would look like, but I got rid of all the armoured bodies on my sandtroopers for the hip problem and put them on tt slims lol. With fett though, he has hip pockets etc that may disguise it.

The skinniness of the armoured might work so try it. Somebody mentioned earlier that SSC Fett looked like 'convention goer in fett armour' which is a little true, because if the guy in the suit doesn't look right, the whole thing is off, and in the film Boba looked quite skinny

I was toying with the idea of swapping him into the armor body, but I dread having to crack open the codpiece to get it off.

The codpiece has a front and back piece that are glued together in place. You'd have to break that apart somehow to get it off of him and on to the other body. Mortifactor swapped the body to a slim TT and talks about it here on page 20. I think someone else might have done it too but I can't remember who.

I bought that codpiece loose from Toy Anxiety, who properly cracked it on one side to take it off. After trying it out on a couple figures, it actually started to crumble on me. I was thinking about getting a replacement, but may just stick to the rubbery one from my Medicom figure.

I do like that SSC honor sash, though, even if it is the wrong color.

The back/collar armor doesn't seem to be an issue on most of the figures in pics that have been posted but mine couldn't be adjusted to look right without doing some cutting. All I had to do was use a dremel to make the screw holes in the back armor slightly oval/taller. Now when the armor is put back it can be moved slightly lower and the collar armor sits perfectly above the chest pieces. Here's some before and after pics:

i did this mod as well & very happy with the results. collar armor sits nicer, though i need to flatten it a bit more.
i'm also going to install an earth magnet on the rocket pack & plate on the back armor or underneath the belt (haven't decided yet). the jet pack tends to come unhooked just a bit too easy for me.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for this when the time comes. :)

I actually got mine off in 1 piece by taking his jump suit off from under it (weird sounding but possible) then using washing liquid to lubricate the figure and slide the armour piece off in 1 piece.

It was putting it on again when I had to cut 1 side at the join to get it over the TT Slim that has a slightly ...curvier rear end.

It wasn't a problem though as the red sash holds it on the figure, but be delicate once 1 side is cut, because the join on the other side is verrrrrry thin (don't let it fold or wobble before its on the figure)

Yeah, I'd like to get the pack more secure as well... Where can I grab some earth magents?

I purchase magnets for various figure and modeling purposes threw the site bellow. I like dealing with them because I don't have to buy in bulk a particular size if I don't want to and they have such a large range of magnets.

Yes, it is the thinness of the sides of the codpiece that are vulnerable to breaking, which I learned the hard way. When I bent the glued side ever-so-slightly to slip the piece onto a new figure, due to the rigid nature of the material, it just cracked & came apart along the edge where the two halves are glued together. I suppose I could glue it back together, but I don't want to worry about what's supposed to be armor being so fragile (the irony, I know!).
