how do you guys think he did the corrosion on the pack and sabers? Like copper shavings or something?

I personally get similar effects using forgeworld weathering powder with either a oil mixture or just plain water and then seal it. Using mixtures of pastel and paint mixing can get similar effect but he did this very well and I cant really be sure. I am pretty good with 8mm monatures but still working on 1/6 scale.

What I find funny is that the 1/6 Mythos custom really doesn't show much skill or even customization to me. Really all the guy has done is taken the helmet and vest of a SSC Fett and blended it with a Medi ROTJ Boba. He's added a bit of glue and copper shavings and some random fabric bits. Even the clone rifles can be had for $4 these days and the knife and German map holder can be had for around $2 each.

Not saying the custom could be done cheaply (just the two core figs would add to nearly what it is at currently) just saying the level of skill required is what an average person could pull off.

Yep if some has an extra fet a little bit of money with some time and skill it can be done.

Should really have gone the extra mile and repainted the whole fett, his pistol, helm and armor could do with more work, still looks cool though

I have 2 Fetts and have considered a total repaint of one , and it can be done easily enough . My Biggest fear is matching the battle damage and making it look nice and crisp like sideshows paint apps.

I had a go at repainting the Tomy mini Helemt it came out nice ,

But like a i said matching the helmet battle damage could be quite difficult .

There is another option for those who think the green is too light ,
There is some special weathering kits made by Tamiya, and there is one that is called "green" . Its like make up , and you just use your weathering sponge it comes with and go over it with the green . I tried it on the armour using "soot Black " just for laughs , the armour still had its green appearence but it was too dark . But I havent tried the
" green" one yet. The weathering can simply wash off with a wet sponge , but if you used the green weathering and you like the look of it , you can seal it with dull coat so it doesnt wash off.

You can get perfect stencils for the helmet battle damage over at The Dented Helmet. They are for 1:1 props so you will have to reduce the files down to 1:6 but they make perfectly accurate weathering templates.

Even if you have roadmap, actually achieving the same level of finish as SSC's apps would be very tough. Their green may be very wrong, but the weathering and other colors are stunningly realistic and accurate.

I won't disagree with that. The paint applications were excellent. Unfortunately they got the colors completely wrong. Had they gotten them right it would have been an outstanding figure.

I use these for some things, can't imagine it covering the green without it looking like a woman's face plastered in foundation by the end haha, i'd like to see it tried though.

When I have time, i'm at the stage of matching the battle damage on my boba repaint, looks doable with a tiny enough brush, a scalpel to scratch, and patience with references

Hi MOrtificator

I have this feeling your going to make aa real kick ass Fett mate - i have good feeling about it ,

Back to to the tamiya weathering kit , i dont think it would look splotchy , but its proably better to respray the armour and start over. I had a go at doing that with the armour and the battle damage match was pretty good .

I ended up using for the rusted colors - Tarleton Sand ( citadel paint) it kind of looks yellowy but very close to the original sideshow coulor , then used citadel methyl silver for the exposed metal parts .

I like the idea of using stencils for the helmet , but what material do you print them onto or copy onto . as mentioned the helmet is my biggest concern . I have the right colours ready to go but yeah just worried the battle damage would look poxy

yeah the two base figures were very pricey .

Funny thing though , the second fett hasnt required as much work as the first one. The armour positioning was perfect on teh second one and so far I have had no issues with wire poking through the cape etc , the only thing i did was to remove the plastic armour backing on the inside of the jacket . I then hot glued the armour on and it looks perfecto. The only reall change was the wooki braids . I used yarn instead of wool this time and look nice and in scale . I noticed the wooki braids on the original are too think .

I should post a pic soon of my new wooki braids invention.
Also thh repainted the sticthing on the belt pouches to a lighter brown colour he looks really nice. I have no clue what iam going to do with the second and all of its parts .
