Boba Fett Customizations/Modifications: Image Thread

Looks like more of a prob with the body size than anything else. The chest armor is tiny there, as are the gauntlets etc, so the helmet actually kind of matches in being too small. Everything else is too.

Put all that gear on a much smaller body and it may look okay (even if it is only 11-11.5" tall)

Just completed a second flak vest made from calico which was an Ivory Colour -- just thought i would post some pics . I also tried the Tomy Mini Helmet on teh SSC yeah - way too small for the body . Infact it actually made me appreciciate the SSC helmet more . This time i decide dto make not only the jacket but the neck piece too using teh same material . I am alot happier with this version now. It closely resembles more the prop replica suits more than the actual ESB Fett . The problem is finding the exact same material and colour is very difficult . Most people these days make the flak vest from an Ivory or Cream Coloured Material ( various) . I placed some thin foam padding unerneath the jacket (picture shown ) and its feels and looks great . The neck piece I thought i would struggle with but it turned out great and it was easy . I will make another neck piece as I want the pleats to be closer together and of course more wrrinkly just like the ESB version . Also does anyone have any opinions on the chest logo as to me I can see that in some scenes the logo is a dark blue with white circle, other scenes it appears dark green with a cream background . - any way heres my latest Boba pics - please let me know what you think .

Yes that is a Hasbro Fett with a Tomy helm someone made on the Rebelscum forum and yes it was just to illustrate how undersized the Tomy helm is. Bummer as I was considering getting the Tomy helm.

The Hasbro Boba Fett was my first 1:6 figure! I do miss it but my SSC is so much better!

Ive looked at all of the various 12 inch Bobas over the years , ive gotta say SSC is the best one in terms of quality . I Have two now, it was funny when i opened the box and saw just how boxy the flak vest was . This seems to be the major let down of the SSC , but in my opinion its the best . Oh yeah , that and the wooki braids but other than those things SSC is fairly close to the screen version , believe me ive studdied this thing . Alot of people think the helmet should be grey , but its not grey , I took me while to comprehend that until after repeating the various scenes in ESB about 100 times each . I think what makes it look grey is the old style film and contrast thats all i can put it down to .

Im thinking of either selling my custom modded SSC boba , or sell parts from the new one I got on ebay . not sure what to do . I do know that the flak vest is a hot item . I saw them go for about 80.00 usd with over 30 people bid on them . I bet they all screwed up their vests too.

Ya I read his post looked at ebay and saw my gold mine ideal turn into a salt mine. 80$ is way to high at that imaginary price people could just by a new boba fett and part out the rest.

Too many damn mods!

Hard for me to see this as the best representation of this character when it requires so many mods to look right.

...don't remember the Medi requiring so many...idk, maybe it did.

I agree with all the mods required for that cirtical perfect look , it hardly seems worth it , yet oddly i bought two of them , no remorse no regrets.

I still think its a nice representation , but the jacket is eeek and the braids are useless. I actually spoke with a customer service consultant regarding this at Sideshow a few days ago . I explained the issues and showed some pics of some minor issues with the velcro etc . They then asked me which parts i wanted because she said she is happy to send me spare parts free of charge. So I asked for a new jacket , new pouch belt and she said she will see what she can do .

I explained how many people are peed off by the flaws , she said they are working on it .

By working on it they are most likely just making a boba fett 2.0 figure. But if the actually release a reasonably priced kit with upgrade parts that would be the happiest day in my life...

No, the auction above CLOSED at $35 including shipping. You are referring to ONE auction that went to $80. Every single other one has gone for $25-50 (averaging around $40), with the higher prices tending to be back when the fig came out. Just do a completed items search. Yes, there was one that went for $25!

They are. It is the ROTJ version. Which also needs a vest, and I'm sure it will be 100% better after all this.

Ya I know there going to make a ROTJ version and I hope the vest is alot better than the current boba which is good just not perfect.

The amount of mods happening to this figure is also highly due to boba being a highly scrutinized character that people love a lot - greedo had as many problems for example, but only very few people modded the hell out of him to look more like his seconds of screentime
