Hi MOrtificator

I have this feeling your going to make aa real kick ass Fett mate - i have good feeling about it ,

Back to to the tamiya weathering kit , i dont think it would look splotchy , but its proably better to respray the armour and start over. I had a go at doing that with the armour and the battle damage match was pretty good .

I ended up using for the rusted colors - Tarleton Sand ( citadel paint) it kind of looks yellowy but very close to the original sideshow coulor , then used citadel methyl silver for the exposed metal parts .

I like the idea of using stencils for the helmet , but what material do you print them onto or copy onto . as mentioned the helmet is my biggest concern . I have the right colours ready to go but yeah just worried the battle damage would look poxy

Given the abundance of 1:1 scale boba battle damage helmet stencils I was tempted by going that route, do you think it would be doable on 1:6? gonna be damn fiddly. I've undercoated mine silver so i can scratch back for some streaks, as well as getting some insanely small paint brushes, but we are yet to see how that turns out haha. Gonna finish it over christmas when I have free time

Best thing to do, which is what I did, is spraying him silver, and very lightly with a pencil put on the templates by hand, and then painting everything except where the scratches need to be. Works just as well. Unless you want to spraypaint that is.

So.. I know this is a Medi Fett, but I customized the belt to be better looking, and modded it. Removed the weird... dunno what to call it, part where the buckles were attached too and realligned them to where I liked them. Then I attached the Medi holster to it and attached the Medi pouches simply because they are more in line with the rest of the Medi. :lol

Anyway, here's the modded Sideshow belt, I really like it. IMO the best Fett belt you can make with current materials available.

Sorry for the extremely crappy pix. Can't find the charger to my Nikon. :(

Anyway, I recommend ANYONE with a Sideshow figure to do this mod. The belt is so ugly stock. And the worst of all is that Sideshow's method is actually MORE time consuming, costs MORE materials, and looks LESS accurate. So I don't know who calls the shot at SS, but it ain't too bright. :lol

Thinking about buying the Sideshow jumpsuit one day along with it's shoulders and kneepads.. How are the paint apps on these? Don't want the knee and shoulders if it means I have to repaint them.. again. <<

The shoulder pads are actually attached to the chest armor vest. The flight suit comes stock gray like the Medi but has been weathered mostly near the base of the legs. I have dyed over the Sideshow flightsuit and the weathering remained perfectly intact.

Got pics of it?

The SSC flightsuit is baggier in the legs on a TT slim. I removed the ridiculous square foam padding from the pockets because it makes it look like a Lego figure. I dyed directly over the gray giving it more the proper bluish/gray hue. The existing weathering is still there.

I like the thighs, but I think the Medi is actually wider at the ankles looking at that. o_O

Actually I wraped the ankle straps tightly around the legs. You can loosen the velcro and make them as baggy as you prefer. I don't like bell-bottoms so I tappered them. ;)

BTW that is a full-on SSC Fett in that shot that I'm working on for somebody. He's been put on a TT slim. I have the modded Medi and I think I prefer the Medi flightsuit better but it fits snugger on the TT slim than the SSC one.

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll stick to the Medi jumpsuit indeed.

Am digging those kneepads though. They look incredibly ACCURATE!

I initially thought the kneepads looked too long/tall, and also maybe too big overall, but have since started to think they are pretty accurate. The Medi ones - even on the smaller Medi body - look noticeably too small.

There was another guy on here who did a Medi/SSC blend on here (not McHaleyart) a couple of months back that was incredible, and he used the SSC kneepads and it looked great (though I think he swapped darts with Medi ones?) Would to do a lot of digging to find the pics though.

i like the look of the foam pockets... more accurate than not having them...

Regarding the knee pads, I actually did the opposite: using the SSC darts that I intentionally snapped off to glue onto the Medicom knee pads (which had a couple broken darts already since first getting it). The Medi knee pads always seemed better scaled to my eyes:

Those Medi kneepads.. Damn them. If you can cast the Sideshow darts somehow, I'd be very interested!

My custom belt, for those that own a Medi/SS. The sideshow holster is very ugly imo. :(

Also, yours looks great, but also alot cleaner than mine. I like it. :)

Looks silly with them on indeed. Only case where I'm all NOT for accuracy.

A little padding with some cotton like in the Medi but those huge foam blocks they put in the SSC flightsuit looked like Sponge Bob Square Pants. :lol

Which is exactly how they looked in the movie.
