Nice work! It's a good combo of parts and some great tweaks, though to me in the pic above, the hands, helmet, and chest armor look a tiny bit too small compared to the overall. Love the vest.

The hands are quite a bit undersized, but I totally agree that the SSC hands are too large (like they have fat hands under them.):gah:

The kneepads are tough - the Medi ones usually look too small, then it seemed the SSC ones were too big - now I'm not sure. Yours could be moved up a bit though.

It's why I asked for the "front on" pose - 3/4 and other poses seem to hide off proportions quite well with Boba. Front-on you can see things a bit clearer.

That looks ****ing excellent mate, great work. :rock

The attitude's there, the stance, the combination of parts - brilliant.

Thanks bud, I love the compliment. "Attitude" sums up the look i wanted perfectly. Some angles in person just "pop" like I'm watching empire.

I completely agree with everything you said. There's plenty here I could easily tweak, but it all comes down to weighing scale vs detail and accuracy. Most of sideshows parts are more detailed and of higher quality than the medi, but didn't always look right. I would say 90% of the figure is slightly too large or too small. A good amount of futzing and posing helps blend it all together though.

:gah::gah::gah:

Great effort, but you know as everyone says - you really shouldn't have to do this at the prices these things are!

It blows me away that these SSC/Medi combos (ported to TT slims no less) are knocking on the door of $400 if the person has bought both figs.

And everyone is screaming about the $400 they want for the Chogokin/Tam C-3PO...

This is so very true.

That's what Monkey Depot and Toy Anxiety are good for. ;)

Yea, thanks for reminding me :rotfl
The Medi Fett was what got me into 1/6 collecting. I never planned on starting a kit bash until the SSC Boba preorder that I thought I had canceled suddenly showed up on my doorstep. After seeing what Mortificator and PJB-1138 did with theirs early on I started toying around with the idea. A spare red skull body and $375 later... that C-3PO is sounding pretty good right about now :wink1:

I'm actually thinking about buying the bits & pieces for a Medi SSC bash now. :slap :lol

Actually.. I don't know. You guys are achieving some beautiful work blending the two (plus the HT TT body), but could I be bothered is the real question I ask myself.

Whether it happens or not, a HT Boba would be my wish. In the end though, I'm really not in that much of a hurry either way to be honest. Still - very inspiring to see the wonderful work on here.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying all the tips, tutorials & pics so far guys! :clap :peace

For about three weeks for the SSC Boba (way less on the good bits,) and not at all for the Medi Boba (at least not in a few years - not sure if he even gets Medis.) It's actually really hard to affordably piece stuff together - the total sneaks up in stealth mode then you're like "wait, all these bits adds to $120 plus shipping - why didn't I just buy the whole damn figure!" Customizing is a tough business.

Funniest thing ever. That's like a bad dream second only to not studying for the test.

Well, the ESB Medi Boba can be had for cheaper these days (the ROTJ not as much) and HT Boba would be sweet but... wait, how many SW figs has HT released or announced in a YEAR AND A HALF?:rotfl Can you say old folks home?

Well I got my Medi Fett for $75 shipped from an ebay seller. If you are patient you can find a good deal on one now and then. And the SSC parts I used cost me about another $50 with shipping and the Hot Toys Slim another $50 so all-in-all it cost me about the same to kit-bash the Fett I wanted as it would have cost to buy a totally inaccurate SSC Fett that requires an immediate body swap right off the bat to replace the crappy Prometheus (add another $50 to that $175 price tag) severe futzing of the vest, replacement Wookie Scalps to get rid of those hideous pieces of yarn, a complete repaint (the actual Floquil polyscale paint colors will set you back about $30, I priced it out). So if you just wanted to improve the SSC Fett alone it will cost you about $300.

Is it a good idea to buy a SSC Fett piece by piece? I can't afford a complete one.

Also, will Medi ESB Fetts plastic material eventually become to brittle to even be worth buying another one?

._. I lost my Medi Boba earpiece, the helmet fell on the floor and the earpiece fell of and RIGHT through a hole in between the wooden floor. -_________-

**** my life for adding a wire to Medi's cape, which looks damn good now but I paid for it dearly.

Good deal on ESB Medi Fett. I saw that the ESB really had gotten cheap, I guess the SSC killed it. The ROTJ may do the same when the SSC one comes out. I really wanted that one.

Depends how many pieces you want. If you want all the pieces, forget it - you'll end up paying the same. Parted out companies got to make a buck!

:thud: dude! You can't get a wire hook or something to grab it? Those little pieces... you drop 'em and they are just gone if you;re not really careful.

Impossible. Will have to sculpt one myself. :(

That sucks dude :( speaking of the earpiece, has anyone successfully swapped the SSC earpiece onto the Medi helmet? I'd like to give it a shot but it seems like a pretty bawlsy move...

One of the members here found a facebook posting indicating HT is only allowed to release one SW figure per year. It is a legal limitation because Sideshow is the primary 1:6 license holder and HT is sub-contracting. I'm sure HT would love to do more SW if they could, it's a money faucet.
