Thought it might be about time to start the Bond thread for the soon-to-be-amazing year of 2015: Star Wars, Avengers and Bond!

This little bit of news from Wiki-something...

A popular news story, started by the blog Deadline, reports that Skyfall writer John Logan has been commissioned by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to pen Bond 24 and 25 as a two-parter. The concept of a two-parter has waned since Sam Mendes was rumored to be a contenting director for Bond 24.

Two-parter? Does Bond really need that type of thing? A cliff-hanger ending for three years?

It could be a two parter but not necessarily a cliff hanger. Kinda like how Casino Royale ended with Bond locating Mr. White. Quantum of Solace picked up with White in the trunk and Bond racing to get him to a safe location for interrogation.

Casino Royale was such a well made Bond film and the theme of manipulation of terrorists by larger organizations to manipulate financial markets was so timely in a 9/11 world. Quantum was even more intriguing with the power elite manipulating and sabotaging water resources for financial gains. It was a real shame the script was never realized due to the writers strike as it really held promise.

I'm looking forward to what Mendes does. He certainly has all the elements in place to make a great Bond film and I really hope he brings back Roger Deakins!

Still just can't get excited about these movies. Something to do with Craig, love him as an actor, only kinda like him as Bond.

Last Bond movie I really looked forward to was Tommorow Never Dies coming off all that Goldeneye hype, imo the franchise has never gotten close to back to that point.

Hated the carry over plot into Solace and Skyfall just felt weird to me trying to segway back from Jason Bourne Bond to having Moneypenny and Q again all at once. Was too much fan service for no real payoff. Even Silva was forgettable as he melds into Magneto, and the Joker and "Khan"l.

WTH? Seriously? Interesting how differently people view the same material. I love Craig as Bond. To me, he makes the character dangerous again and not so effete as Moore and Brosnan. I thought Casino Royale was pretty good (though kinda lacking in regards to the villain), but I'd agree on Quantum. Liked the title but the movie, IMO, sucked. Skyfall, on the other hand, may be my favourite Bond movie ever. Brilliant track, great intro and the movie (aside from maybe the over-the-top helicopter attack on the cottage -- then again, it's Bond) was fantastic. I didn't like Javier's character entirely but overall one of the better clichéd antagonists in the series, IMO. Only Bond movie I felt compelled to buy out of all of them.

Skyfall was everything I wanted it to be when I headed for the cinema. Great plot, acting, action, music, nostalgia, and a grand finale. Very we'll done!!

Yes! Can't wait. Love me some DC Bond. I love Bond in general but I have really enjoyed Casino Royale, QOS, and Skyfall. Loved them. And yes I also thought of CR and QOS as a two parter.

Before Skyfall, I was on the fence with the Craig "Bond" films. Casino Royale was one of my favorite in the series. QoS was one of my least favorite. I thought the quality pf CR was going to be the exception, not really the the rule of the series starring him. But the trailer to Skyfall completely blew me away and the final product met all my expectations.

For now, I'll contain my excitement as I wait for films such as Godzilla, Avengers, Captain America 2, Superman/Batman--but once this trailer eventually hits I'll be all in.

Sounds good to me. I'm not a big Bond fan but I do like Craig as Bond quite a bit and I really liked Skyfall.
