I've only seen bits and pieces of the first two LotR films, so I'm not really familiar with this character, but I think his eyes are waaay too green.. or blue... um... or hazel, or... um...

P.S. I use Spyder 2PRO to calibrate my monitor — at least once a day, mind you — so I know what I'm talking about! :D

(Btw: If the background on the banner, below, does not appear cerulean blue, you need to adjust your gamma.)

Frankly I love the figure; the problem right now is that the preview photo has very rich lighting. Consequently, it has a flushed look which is only emphasized by the lights. If seen in regular daylight without the enhanced photo colors it would look very natural and not so red. Since this is our only sample pic so far, it's too early to say much about the coloring. We have to wait until we get a pic with more wash in the lighting scheme. I'm fully confident that it will look fine.

I'm glad Sideshow is moving away from the grayish fleshtone that has been standard with most every caucasion figure they've put out. I noticed the difference with Luke. His skin looks a lot healthier, less like he's about to be sick. I noticed because i was about to put one of his hands on another Sideshow figure, and saw that the color didn't match.

Seems I've missed quite a lot on these last couple of days...
Anyway, I think the sculpt look nothing like Sean Bean/Boromir.
I agree with the Han Solo Syndrome comment.
Weakest sculpt of the three by far.

I agree this one screams "The Chronicles of Young Theoden" :lol

LOL, agreed.

Sideshow bad guy time..........

Shagrat and Gorbag please. They only saw the light of day with toybiz, and they didn't turn out all that great. You guys do an awsome job when it comes to baddies.

Yeah, I think the same thing Mikey... Look at Connery Bond for example.. he has that look like he ate bad shellfish and chased it with warm tequila. :yuck

Luke had a much healthier skin tone... reminded me of S-Mart Ash.. who had a similiar tone. I hope this trend continues.

How long did it take for the exclusive Legolas and Aragorn to sell out?
Do the LOTR figures actually need a priority presale?

Legolas sold out just after 5 PM, and I seem to remember Aragorn going until around 6 PM or so.

So they have taken only 7 or 8 hours to sell out, which is pretty fast.

Please tell me you're joking!! This might be the single greatest trilogy of all time and you only watched "bits and pieces?" You, sir, need to take a day off and become Jacksonized or Tolkienized before you lose your humanity...:lol
