Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

I really like this statue and have ordered it but I really hope at some point they release a Fellowship Boromir since he was in the outfit a lot more than this one. Anyway still very impressed.

SS has already said they will be be revisiting certain characters with alternate costuming and I'd say the chances of SS doing a fellowship version of Boromir are about 100%.

Great looking statue. I told myself before seeing it that I really shouldn't order it. I have relatively limited display space and am trying to be pretty particular/specific about what I buy.....

......I ordered it anyways......:slap

Ordered, it looks great. The face or is it the hair could be better, but it looks pretty close. Armor is first rate.

I hope that 100% is for him to be in the PF line!

The maquette line has been such a nice take on characters in "alternate" costumes when available. Aragorn is well-represented in his Strider aspect, Legolas has his Helm's Deep armor, and now Boromir is in his Gondorian Armor. Even though the costume differences are minimal for Gandalf, the Premium Format and Maquette seem to nicely represent two sides to his persona. I think down the road the Maquette and Premium Format line will compliment each other quite nicely! I have been thrilled with the offerings thus far, and I can't wait to see more!

That 100% is for both the maquette and PF lines. And you're right Chris, SS has done a great job of portraying these characters in alternate outfits where applicable in the maquette line. Next up, Arwen in her riding/chase outfit. :lecture

Trying to resist. Everything I collect is basically 1:4 or 1:1 stautes.

Help!! :gah::gah:

Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

Just ordered my Boromir, he looks too good to pass on. The armor looks sweet and not a bad likeness to Mr. Bean

Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

Yeah, this looks really good.

If Sideshow does do a complete Fellowship line up though, would anyone be disappointed that Boromir and Legolas are from the Two Towers (Gondor and Helm's Deep armor) instead of their Fellowship gear?

As a display goes, that would kind of suck to have Strider, Gandalf the Grey, Gimli and the Hobbits (granted they make Fellowship incarnations of the Hobbits) only to have Boromir and Legolas stick out like a sore thumb. Legolas isn't that much different, but Boromir is a drastic change.

Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

I'm fine with the lineup as is. The only thing I would like better would be a maquette interpretation of the fellowship cresting the ridge, together, exactly as in FOTR.

Doesn't bother me a bit. They will for me always be the Fellowship no matter what gear they are wearing. As Gandalf says at the end of ROTK, "Here at the shores of the sea comes the end of our Fellowship." So, I look at them like that.

Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

Likeness is not quite there, but everything else is excellent. Exclusive definitely is a must if you're ordering. Unfortunately, I not yet sold on this have to think about it.

Same here. But since we already know this line is to be expansive and that certain characters will be revisted, I think in the end it will be a non-issue anyway......

Right if this has the legs that it should have I agree it shouldn't be a problem. Its a good problem to have anyways. :lol

Beautiful statue.....

One of the things I like most is the intensity of the pose. Something that the new Cap is lacking of....

Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.

People keep mentioning Boromir PF in fellowship outfit. It seems the maquette line allows Sideshow to release those complex outfits. How feasible, cost efficient is it to do a quality Boromir PF? That outfit is no joke and is no wonder they haven't done it yet.

His outfit would be a challange thats for sure, but I would imagine most of these outfits have been in one way or another. I mean the costuming job done in these movies are some of the best I've seen in any movie and they're complex as hell.

Looks fantastic, congrats to those collecting the line!

I think that we will get the Hobbits from other points in the films, as Sideshow has suggested that they will be done as possible two-fer statues. I think Sam and Frodo will get paired together possibly more muddied up on their way up Cirith Ungol, and Merry and Pippin might be on the plains of Gondor, in their Rohan and Gondorian Armor. Just don't make 'em look like wimps!

This will leave the attire from the "Fellowship" open for the Premium Format line. Sideshow has stated they have committed to the complete Fellowship in both lines (how long that might take, who knows) but I think the Premium Format is more suited to the attire from the Fellowship, and the other costume choices are better suited to the maquette line.
