I think they said Faramir is coming as well at some point.
Ok, got my order for the ex. Boromir in, and this one is the best piece in the line so far in my opinion. We get a great piece, that's different than what's been offered so far. I love the flag, nice touch.

So far 5/5 on this line. Nice job SS, keep it up!

Yes, the design for Faramir [and Eomer] has been completed. And I think there's a very good chance we will at least see the conceptual designs sometime during SDCC.

I agree. This IMO is the best of the lot so far and that is saying something because SS has produced some amazing statues for this line so far....5/5 pretty well sums it up.

They need to release a Cave Troll or a Balrog. Then you can watch people jumping on this maquette bandwagon in full force.

I'm excited to see those two in this line and will be nice to finally have them in statue form. Two really glaring omissions from the original statue line. I would also think we'll see more conceptual art during Comic-Con.

While watching the EE on Blu this week that I cannot wait to own a new Cave Troll and Balrog from this line. They are going to be so damn awesome.

I am not a LOTR fan but from time-to-time I often wish I liked the movies enough to buy the collectibles. There are some very beautiful pieces out there under the LOTR license. I almost will go as far as saying, there maybe more mind blowing LOTR pieces than Marvel (which I collect), but sadly, it comes down to which you're more a fan of. I will say I have felt very compelled to get a few LOTR pieces before. This one, is another that screams "WOW!!!" factor.

Eli, one day, when you grow up, you'll love LotR and you'll sell all your Marvel stuff to get these.

If people haven't jumped on the bandwagon by now it's doubtful they ever will. And if they don't jump on by the time SS releases the Prologue Elven warrior, Faramir and Eomer.....it's never going to happen.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I've stated numerous times that the Gondorian Armor Boromir is the version I wanted in PF, especially seeing Sideshow's Vlad the Impaler PF. I imagined Boromir with sculpted polystone plate armor and a cloth flag of Gondor and cloak for the mixed media aspect. I've posted this numerous times on this board as well as the comments section of Sideshow's site.

I've since changed my mind and realize that a PF Bormoir in Fellowship garb could be one of the best PFs Sideshow has done, regrdless of license. The costuming is so rich, and a fabulous EX would eb a scale representation of his black bearskin traveling cloak.

I also hope that should Sideshow do a Faramir maquette as well, a version of Faramir in his Gondorian armor would be a nice companion piece to the Boromir maquette. Yes I know that Faramir was more of a ranger....but that could be the PF.

Dino, you might be interested to know that a 2nd 'closed-mouth' portrait was sculpted though no one can figure out why SS hasn't included it with this maquette......you might want to contact SS directly concerning this. I will do the same.

^ this 100%. i''m very excited about this line. we already have two great ones out and the ones that have been revealed so far don't give any reason to think they won't be home runs as well. there are several characters i would love to have but i'm stoked so far with all that they have released already and everything that they have previewed.

Right things are going in a really nice direction with this line. Its nice to see this again with a full statue line since its been so long since we had that. Weta's environments are amazing looking and we're getting winners right and left with that so these two together is a real treat.

Well, they have finally convinced me to switch lines. I am going to sell off my PFs and collect the maquettes instead. I just bought Gandalf, preordered Boromir, and got on the wait list for Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. I am convinced that this is going to be a high quality line that covers a broad range of characters, and it's time to start supporting it.

I'm excited to get that version as well. I had the traveling outfit statue back in the day and it was quite good so I look forward to them getting to that one down the road.

Interesting...I kind of went the opposite direction. I ordered both the Aragorn and Gandalf maquettes and had them on display along with my PFs. The PFs are just so much more impressive to me in terms of the outfit and overall presentation of the character. So I sold the maquettes and told myself that it's only PFs now moving forward...and the new Gollum PF only reinforced that decision for me. Either way, you can't go wrong with this Boromir piece, it looks awesome for those of you that are collecting the maquette line!

I was looking at the Boromir maquette and I realized that we will probably never get something this complex and detailed in the PF line. Same with Gimli. This seems to be the line that will deliver the characters I'm interested in--and at a faster pace than the PFs.

These also bring back memories of the old Sideshow/Weta pieces. There's something cool about sculpted polystone that gives these a classic/timeless feel.
