Re: Boromir Maquette...Buy NOW!!. Links in 1st post !!.
Unfortunately the LSB's and dio's were all polystone as well, but that didn't prevent those lines from failing. But you're right, this line has a completely different "feel" to it. I think it's pretty apparent since day 1 SS really wanted to create a classic, timeless line of polystone statues unrivaled in quality....and they have done a magnificant job so far. And if SS's commitment wasn't apparent after the 1st four maquettes, it certainly was in my mind when they brought in the finest headsculptor in the world, Trevor Grove, to redo the Boromir and Arwen portraits. Personally, I can hardly wait to see what SS has in store for us with the 2nd wave of maquettes......Eomer, Faramir, a Prologue Elf....Buckle up, I think were in for quite a ride.
Yeah, I don't think this is fading anytime soon. This is the type of collectible where it all started. I've felt from the start this one would have the best chance because I think ringers like polystone statues. There is just something about getting a box opening it up and smelling fresh polystone. Especially, so when it's from one of the best stories ever.
