I hope we get one or two more maquettes that get to about 20" or so in height--it's going to be funky if I have to adjust my shelf for Boromir and it's six inches higher than all the other maquettes.

Maybe we'll get a nice tall "Merry & Pippin in the branches of Treebeard." I would really love that--those two are severely underrepresented in the collectibles world, and it would be great to have a piece that celebrates them and their friendship.

Oh when we get a statue on steed at somepoint I would imagine those will be fairly tall. Plus a Sauron or Morgul Lord would also come in at that range.

Its really just the flag that is adding to the height. I ordered this but the one I really want is the PF in fellowship attire.

Bought this cos I'm a huge Boromir fan and I'm worried we might not get a good sculpt of Boromir in the PF line. This is my insurance policy.

Please sideshow, let the man who sculpted this sculpt the PF portrait as well. Please, please, please

Well I ordered Boromir...and Legolas...and Gimli. Boromir is the only exclusive, but that's ok.

Don't know where I'm going to put any of them...but I'll figure that out later.

Perhaps down the road I'll pick up Gandalf and Strider...but with SDCC around the corner...don't have the extra $$ to spend this month. Plus I have a representation of Aragorn and Gandalf already in my collection...so if I don't get them as maquettes, that'll be ok too.

I'd consider it but it would ship now...and I got a few things coming next month as well as SDCC. I wish I was a rich girl.

Plus to be honest...I like the PF better. BUT if I find myself with extra cash laying around..I'll pick it up and GTG.

That would be Trevor Grove. The same guy who did the headsculpts for the Aragorn, Legolas, and Arwen maquettes. If I had my way I'd have him do the headsculpts of every statue from every line and licence.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I'm not quite sure why his name isn't listed, but he was brought in to do the headsculpts. I'll be curious to see if his name is attached to the Arwen maquette once it becomes available.....

So are Jeff Yaeger, Pablo Viggiano, the Gore Group, and recent additions such as Gabriel Marquez and Mark Newman. You're right, there's no shortage of sculpting talent working for SS, but when it comes to human portraits....my monies on Trevor. I cannot think of a single sculptor who so accurately and so consistantly delivers the goods where human likenesses are concerned.

Now since this statue has Boromir in his armour, I hope the PF has him in this outfit, complete with fur cape! I had a better pic, but couldn't find it.

As for a fellowship Boromir PF with his Gondorian cloak it is completely feasible as long as it is based on a scene up to and including the Mines of Moria/Balin's Tomb scene.

Boromir wore this cloak arriving at and leaving Rivendell :

During the climb of Caradhras :

And in the Mines of Moria :

After uttering the words "They have a Cave Troll" and helping Aragorn bar the doors to Balin's Tomb we never see that cloak again.

Hopefully it will be before he leaves Rivendale and gets all funky and dirty.
