Flynn to me is still very much a child. He is still in that child like mentality. the naive comments you make proves this.
He might be an teenager as far as age goes, but in his heart he is still pretty much a kid. That's why he lives in a fairy tale, because he is not mature enough to understand how reality works. He still has that child like innocence.
I think part of it is how his parents shield him from anything bad. Walter has an answer and an excuse for everything, and Skyler tries to hide the ugly truths from him.

I am curious to see the next episode and to see how this has affected him in the long run.

I Agree Completely. But Again, He's no Hero.

However, the Don Quixote/White knight Archtype is Needed in a story like this.

Even if it is foolhardy.

I've already said what my stance is. He ain't no hero. But he's one of the best villains i've ever seen for any media. And that makes him compelling. So that's how I view the character, and that's how the character is supposed to be viewed.

Walt is viewed as a hero by the same people who viewed Tony Soprano as a hero.

Both are villains or anti-heroes if you will.

Here is a thought.

Walt has only killed twice when it was not nessacary.

The other times it was to protect his family.

Mike Was accidental, and Pure heat of the moment anger reaction. I GENUINELY BELIEVE he felt remorse for it.

I get the impression that Walt Saw Mike as Invincible. He seemed shocked to find Mike Dying.

Ordering Jessie's death, Was Nothing ELSE but Revenge. And out of EVERYTHING he has done, this was the most despicable, evil moment for him.

Jessies death was Valjean's Candlesticks.

Or the Blind begger boy if you prefer the Book.

Granted, I know Jessie wasn't killed, But Walt dosn't know that.

Walt shooting Mike was not accidental. Walt was pissed and acted out of anger.

He felt remorse after the fact....just like an adultery might feel remorse.:rotfl

Walt's not REALLY a Villian. But he's not a Hero either. No Heros in this show, ESPECIALY NOT Hank.

He's a Badguy, yes. But Not A villian.. atleast, not yet.

Were I to liken him to another fictional character from another popular media, I'd use Danyeries Targaraian from GoT.

Like I said, it's all shades of Gray with Breaking Bad.

"I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be, than me."

Yeah, i'm fine with that. But like I've said, over and over again....it's strange to see people justify his actions as if he were a good, decent person.

But I can totally understand justifying his actions in terms of his character. I get that in Walt's mind, Jesse killed Hank...kinda, but in reality, it was all Walt's doing.

But then again, i'm on no team, because teams are lame.

I agree. But My point is I doubt he intended to actualy KILL mike.

That May sound Dumb considering he Was shooting at mike, but in the show, it's estblished that Walt has VERY LITTLE expierence with guns.

He got mad, and He reacted. He happened to be holding a gun at the time. If he had been holding a brick, he would have thrwon it at the car instead.

I'm not trying to Defend his actions here, merely point out the mentality and motivations behind them.

EXACTLY. The central theme of the show is disassembly and motivation.

Season one, Jessie Pinkman " NO ONE simply BREAKS BAD at 40. Just dosn't happen, what's the angle?"

He's a villain. He's a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad man. The worst kind of human. Sure. He's got depth, and he's got motive. But just because he loves his family, doesn't make up for what he's done. And all the lives he's ruined.

****...I guess i'll use dumb Batman....Two Face in TDK was a villain. Despite you understanding everything he's done. He's still a incredibly bad dude.

You are trying to demonize Walt at this point. Walt might as well be The Governor now, they way you keep talking about how evil he is.

Sorry, I don't find a person to be a good person when they poison children.

That doesn't mean that he doesn't have depth. Once a ****ing again. :lol

I'd still think he's a bad dude. But not quite as bad. That did end up killing my love for that guy. :lol

But I love him in a different way now.

A question I have about that poisoning. Brock has no idea that ricin came from Walt, so why the hostility? Why does Brock look at Walt as if he knows it was Walt that poisoned him :dunno

I don't know. I still see Walt as a coward and a hypocrite. I don't even see him as a villain because he has always been such a coward.
He used his brains to take out the other bad guys and he had Jesse's help, but Walt to me has always been pretty weak too.

Like he couldn't win a fist fight with any of the people he killed. He is really smart and clever, but sometimes he wins by pure luck.

becuz Walt is the most evilezt human on earth and Brock could sense that he was Satan incarnate :lol

Because he probably saw him poison him. :lol....Vince suggested the idea he had was Walt poisoned his juice box and delivered to him in his school some how. Maybe he gave it to them, maybe he saw him....but it's implied he knows. Or at least can tell how nasty Walt is.

Also... he didn't poison him with ricin. Twas Lily of the Valley.

Well, as dumb as it is to do...he's kinda like Darth Vader (Christ...that was a hard sentence to type...:gah:) He's a villain, but deep down he has something. I don't know, or think it'll ever come back up....but it's somewhere there. It's a re-telling of the villain mythology.
