I saw this on NHL.com.......:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

NHL.com Prediction: Let the teeth gnashing commence as Canada drops a close decision to the Americans in what should be an up-and-down game with vicious hitting and great goaltending on both sides. It says here that the Americans escape with a one-goal victory, perhaps 2-1. But, it is not the end of the world for the host team, who has the quality and mental toughness to fight their way into the medal round.

Hiya Eli :wave

USA! USA! USA!

Something else I found interesting is something the announcers stated during the mens 1000m speed skating finals. They said that Canadian athletes used to be able to train with American atheletes and the Canadian Olympic comittee stepped in and put an end to that. They were talking about Shani Davis an Denny Morrison training together. Now why the hell would they do that? You would think they would love that, as you become better by training with better athletes. They also stated the Canadian athletes have suffered due to this. Now before Eli flies off the handle here...it goes both ways. Anyone hear anymore on this as to why?

EDIT

Shani Wins SILVER! 22 medals for the good ole USA now...... :clap:clap

Oh, and our country spends less on its athletes than the US.

Oh, and last time we won 24 medals to the US' 25. We have 34 million to your 310 million, come again.

We know you were serious. VERY SERIOUS!

heh :peace

If you use that as an excuse for when you lose, then what about when you win? When it all boils down, it's just a hand full of guys going at it. The Netherlands just took the gold in speed skating. How did he win over the USA using your reasoning?

USA should take it all. How come they're not? We have more people? We spend more money? Why not?

:p

Actually Morrison and Davis did train together and they're friends... Interestingly enough there's a US figure skating pairs team that has the exact same coach as one of the Canadian teams and they train together as well...

Watching the long track-- not good for Canada (hopeful that the short track will be better tonight) and the first run of the two-man bobsled was interesting. Just a FYI for our neighbours to the south--- on Canada 2 the brake man is Jesse Lumsden who's a starting running back (when he's not injured... :naughty inside Canuck joke) for the Edmonton CFL (Canadian Football League) team and when he played for McMaster University he won our version of the Heisman Trophy, the Hec Crighton (for Outstanding Football Player in the nation), in 2004.

Any chance we'll see Tim Tebow or Reggie Bush pushing a sled in the near future?
