Two pouches. 1 large, 1 small. No holster. No shoulder bag. He also had a small wallet like pouch that had his electronic lock pick thingy in it. Here's a screen grab and my custom one. I used a pouch from another HT figure, added the belt loop and painted it green.

WG, this is how I set up my Hudson belt from studying the movie and photos.

Heres how one of my headsets is shaping up too, almost done with them now thank goodness.

That belt set-up is perfect -- I thought it was a prop still at first!

That's exactly how I'm setting mine up too, at least as far as the eagle bolero and the "braided necklace" on the end of the knife. I got some kind of loose "rope decoration" from an officer figure that had the proper metal ends for the 'bolero' thing and a braided length that should work for Hudson once painted. I still need the actual eagle, and I don't have the wide, flat pouch yet.

I've noticed that the 'braided necklace' sometimes has the braid around Hudson's neck in the film and sometimes has the braid at the knife tip, so I guess it can slide around. I think I'll place it however he had it during the mess hall scene.

Also, I've never noticed the second dangling "tie" on the knife sheath before. And is that accurate as far as where Hudson placed his welding unit?

Headset looks great too of course!

The first image Dboz posted above shows the two threads of the tie hanging from the Gerber knife and can be seen in a few other shots too.The same pic also shows he wore a belt tool to the left of his belt buckle. These are those smart clip tools that come with Drake and Vasquez. I was kindly given two from my best friend. I also have one of these on my Hicks, to the right hand side of his belt buckle.

From watching the movie I saw that Hudson wore his welder in this position, to the rear of his left side. The welder and belt tools weren't black in the movie but actually painted Brown Bess, the same colour as the rifles and trackers. I was lucky to get a pot of Humbrol 170, the exact brown paint they used in the movie so i'l paint them up at some point

Completely off topic... But have you posted a thread re: your collection display? I'd love to see your shelves... You seem to have evey figure out there!

I got a thread in the custom section with just a few of the more unusual pieces I have... but I don't have everything. I have limited space where I live now, so a lot of my collection is hidden in the bowls of my storage closet. My display cabinet just looks cluttered right now. I hope to move soon, get a large cabinet and put most everything out in display. Then I'll take a super-shot of the whole shebang. Thanks for asking though.

In the mean time, a couple more Hudson before the light goes...

Got my 8-ball, just need the calendar...

Comparison of Hicks & Hudson:

I went for a grayer tone on Hudson's BDUs to set them apart visually. Hudson looked grayer to me in the film. I still may need to do some touch-up work to make him grittier. And Pjam pointed out that my helmet is too light, so I have to get that dirtier too. And I still have to do the edge-work on the armor with my new silver sharpie. So much to do...

I also HAVE TO REPLACE THOSE GLOVED HANDS! They suck.

Wor-Gar,

Your marines are very nice! I really like the weathering on the BDUs. I'm currently in the middle of a move and my figs are all boxed, but I may have to try that weathering technique once I get settled.

Nicely Done WG! Love the gauze touches and the BDUs, and of course I totally dig that sculpt which is very similar to mine which is even goofier/crazed, the expression that is: priceless.

Looks like you are damn close and he looks great next to Hicks. The helmet camo is darker so you may want to check on that, Dekdave posted a ton of ref shots, it is a darker green... I replaced the hands with a pair of HT hands, it makes a big difference, especially once you get your MT back, you won't want those black paws anywhere near it...:lol

Anyway, cheers on having Hudson front and center. :D

So I'm doing my helmet -- got the 8-ball and the 'Game Over' calendar done.

But what is the writing on the left side of the helmet (left side looking at it)? The bottom word is "Head" I think, what's the top?

"Brain Dead"

Incredible work on your Hicks and Hudson Wor Gar, and Stendec too! I want to get my Hicks and Hudson correct too. I am trying to strive for the "movie-accurate" look for them. I haven't weathered their BDUs yet. I got the winged skull bolo pin from Chris at EVA for my Hudson. But I still have to mount the black Gerber knives on to both Hicks' and Hudson's armor straps like you guys did. Where did you get the extra pouch for Hudson's belt for his "bypass" computer stuff? I want one for my Hudson. Let me know. Thanks!

What "winged skull" bolo clip does Chris offer? Can you post a picture? Please. :D

I don't have that "computer" pouch either. Need it.

Here's my more complete HUDSON, just finished:

Hudsonmorecomplete1.jpg

Added the SG clip, the extra little rope tie on the knife (thanks Stendec for pointing that out), finished the helmet with the calendar and "Brain Dead" (thanks Pjam), and added a little "dirty wash" on the helmet and in certain places on the BDUs just to give him a little texture -- he was looking a little too gray. Not sure the flash photo really shows it all off well, but...

Sure. Here's a picture of me holding the "winged skull" bolo tie clip from Chris at EVA Models.

Hudsonswingedskullboloinmyhand.jpg

I've painted it a light gray wash as close as I could get to how I saw it in the movie. I see from your Hudson that the winged skull tie clip goes at the end of the rope going across Hudson's chest to one of his armor straps right above his black knife. I plan on doing that with mine.

Sorry if I made a mistake with your Hudson about the "bypass" computer pouch thing. I think I saw another one on this board from another member who had one on their Hudson.

Nice work WG, your Hudson is looking badasss! The black necklace you are using looks perfect too, very screen accurate. From what figure did you find that?

Regarding the helmet cover, Id really recommend you use some blue-tac to hold it down firmly against the helmet. Otherwise I found the cover looks to bulbous and rather goofy. I was able to define the shape of the helmet and the outline of the strike plate underneath the cover using this method and it looks very convincing.

hudson_helmet.jpg

I had to scratchbuild the hacker pouch because I coudn't find one that was the right shape and size. Mine measures 2.8cm by 2cm which I believe is pretty close at sixthscale.

For the eagle lapel, I traced a photo of a screen used one, scaled it down, traced onto plastic and cut it out witha file.

This is just a personal prefference thing but I also removed the thick padding from the pule rifle sling on both my figures. I just felt they looked goofy, too big and gave away scale.

Thanks Stendec. I'm not sure what figure that "rope braid" came from, I got it at War-Toys under 'ropes'. It's some sort of decorative braided ropes for a German Officer I imagine. It had real metal ends for the bolo, and the correct braiding for the necklace -- I just had to cut it to length, glue and paint it black as it came silver.

I just have to find the hacker pouch and a little eagle and he's complete.

Nice pictures Dark_Spidey!

HUDSON finished, mostly...
