The arms are what lets these figures down. It would be good if they all had Drake bodies then you wouldnt see the horrid joints

True that, but at the cost of these figures, I feel safer with the jointed body when the muscular body isn't a total necessity, then I don't have to worry about deterioration. Muscle body is a must for Rambo and Rocky where there's no shirt either, but where just arms are exposed it's not worh the risk and the underlying pieces for the arms don't look like arms at all so if the rubber breaks down you're SOL.

True also, but im sure you could coat it with something to protect it. With all my AVP Predators i coated the body in Citadel Varnish so the paint doesnt fade or wear

The muscle bodies look nice, and actually are very poseable if you're careful enough. But the big drawback with them is the weak wrist pegs.. My Drake and Rambo III have busted wrists, and I'm not having any luck finding replacement hands :monkey2

Side note: just wanted to say all this work you guys are putting into these marines is incredible and truly inspring. Awesome stuff guys!

I finished painting the Hudson head I got from here. I think it's a reasonably good sculpt (much better than the other ones on the site, certainly) but not perfect by any means. I made his eyes go off to one side since it made him look more worried, and I also used some gloss coat on the forehead to simulate sweat, and I think that worked pretty well. I'm still interested in seeing that other Bill Paxton sculpt, though.

I really Can't stand the muscle bodies. I'm trying to find a Super Pale Regular HT body to transplant drake onto.

I've already tried sticking Drake's head on a (pale) regular body and he looks pretty good. Drake was a big dude, but he didn't exactly have a Mr. Universe type body. With the flak jacket and armour on, it really doesn't make a huge difference, except that the arms on the muscular body do look a lot better than the jointed ones. The smart-gun has pretty limited movement anyway, so Drake doesn't really need as much articulation as the other marines, which is why I stuck with the muscular body. But if you want to have him doing other things, like wielding a flame thrower, etc., I think the regular body would probably be the better choice as far as articulation is concerned. Anyway, it's always nice to have other options.

Your Hudson looks great, excellent work on the headsculpt. I bought the same headsculpt and thought the likeness is fairly decent though I am having it reworked by a very talented artisit here to improve it.

Here's my Drake repaint. I'm thinking of redoing the hair to be lighter. I just saw JediMike's Drake and thought it looked really good with almost white hair.

Looks pretty good dude, might wanna go a bit lighter on his hair though. His hair is heaps white in any movie Mark Rolston plays

The Bishop jumpsuits that we were discussing earlier from War-toys.com arrived. They're both the same dark color. Almost black. I'm still liking the one with the more pockets over the other one, but I don't have my Frank Black figure yet so I can't try them on.

Thanks for your complement on my Drake's repainted head. He still does not photograph well with his pale white skin, but I was finally able to get the hair color right...or at least as close as I could to his hair in the movie. :D

Icruise, I got in that other jumpsuit from War-Toys.com. The GSG-9 one. You're right it is very dark blue, almost black. But I like the way it looks on him. I'll take some pics and post them later tonight. I have the Frank Black figure I use as my custom Bishop.

My Frank Black arrived today so I'll be starting to work on my Bishop now. Did you say you got the patch you used for his jumpsuit from the same guy I got my Hudson head from?

That's good news to hear that you got in your Frank Black figure icruise. Yes, you can get a really nice set of USCM marines patches from Chris Chulamanis. I did. He does great work! You won't be disappointed. Here's a link to that set of patches.

https://members.aol.com/M56SG/uscm.html

The set of patches in a little way down the page. Scroll down to find where it says "1/6 scale USCM patches printed on real fabric!" They can be cut out with a knife or scissors, and then Chris told me to always use Elmer's white school glue to stick them to a uniform or outfit. He said DO NOT use superglue since it will leak through the fabric in the patch, and make it look bad. If you have any more questions about making the Bishop just ask me, or pjam or anyone else who has done a custom Bishop or owns one! :D
