These droids are based off of the duo in ANH and that's what we've been discussing.

The base of the regular version represents the sands of Tatooine. The EX has each droid on their own base representing the ending scene on Yavin.

As a kid I didn't even notice C3PO's silver leg. VHS probably didn't pick up the difference in color very well. I've never been able to figure out the real story behind it as I don't read the books or anything but I love movies with subtle unexplained details to characters like that. Makes them so much more interesting.

Just noticed the date was changed to Q1 2013.

First it was January, then moved to February, now it just says 1st quarter.

What that means is we could expect this in May-June.

I have to disagree. Here are some pics, on the Tantive, at the beginning of ANH. Granted, they aren't as polished as they are on Yavin, but they are pretty clean looking.

Not the best photos. Just pop in the Blu ray or DVD and See how scuffy they both are.

The only time these two shine in the OT is at the end of ANH.

Come on be honest, you don’t find it funny that every time 3PO thanks the maker he is secretly thanking Vader for his being. I think it's comical.

It's funny that when we talk about the droids we can compare the ANH version to the TESB & ROTJ version, but never to ROTS (where 3PO was shinning like a diamond )
