Just noticed the reg just says "limited edition" now. Used to say TBD, what do you guys think?
That's a bait and switch if i've ever seen one. So now there could possibly be a huge disparity between the clean and dirty droids in terms of collectibility. But yes, they should have been an "open" edition from the get go...they are too iconic!

This was the case till Sideshow switched the Sauron PF "limited edition" to 1500.
Does Sideshow do this will all the "limited edition" stuff? I imagine they might if the edition size didn't go over 2500 or so. When your spending this kind of money it would be nice to know in advanced, though I would still buy what I liked regardless.

In fact, everything they make or any other manufacturer, is 'Limited Edition'. These things are not available forever.

That's the reason why I take that phrase very loosely. Actually, I no longer find it very meaningful anymore. It's a marketing phrase.

The way I understand 'Open Edition', is that there isn't a specified number or timeframe. They will continue to create and sell them so long as the orders are still coming in. Once sales for a particular item stops, it's done for good.

I like my collectibles to be limited. It isn't a must, but it gives you something extra for your money. It's the same as buying a regular or a limited edition Hasbro action figure. The limited edition is something to hunt after and (mostly) costs more on the second hand market. But the regular figures (also mostly) stay the same prices or even lower.

I myself find it great to spend my hard earned money on something that is available for a limited time. :D

Yeah, me too. I don't care much for goldenrod. But R2 is the savior in so many ways. He always comes to the rescue, and keeps his wits (or circuits) about him.

If they do in fact separate them down the road for purchase I hope the ES on the Reg isn't astronomical. Either way it's a must buy though.

Watch them release them individually and make them the clean version and watch as this thread melts down from the anger of those who got the EX edition.

Please no, this better not ever happen...:horror imagine the horror for the ex collectors.
