I'm torn on this one. I ordered it, but there seems to be a lot of QA issues. I've been debating canceling it.

they do look great... yes I still have problems with replacing parts.. and no.. they are not worth $750 .. but as said.. they look great..

Replacing for customization purposes or because the original parts break/defective? I'm not looking to pay $750 for something I have to perform maintenance on. There seems to be a lot of people saying they are over-priced, too. Are they mostly plastic/cheap parts? I would think, at that price, quality would be #1?

r2 is a thick abs style plastic.Could be better, could be worse. c3 is a tank. Once you get them set up the weight of r2 is a non issue IMO. They look awesome.

Parts were missing.. while 3po feels great... r2 is simple plastic... if the paint up wouldn't be si nice it could be a Hasbro toy. Dont get me wrong I have the set but the price is way over the top

I send mine back to Sideshow for a full refund. I think they were awesome but just don't worth $750. They are overprice they should worth at least like a normal Pf $400. But they do look beautiful....

I just cancelled, mostly for price vs quality issues. I wanted them badly, but too many negatives, IMHO. I'll just buy something else now. Probably Jack the Ripper, Chewbacca, and Spidey tomorrow.

It's funny how people who absolutely rave about the DRoM, are complaining about this pair. How is it different that for almost the same price, on one hand, we have a chunk of polystone and a piece of ABS, which " sucks, not worth it, etc ", and on the other, its a chunk of polystone, and a bunch of rags, but " OMG!! He is so awesome!! "

Just justification really. It's what helps people sleep at night j97. For me, because I love this duo so much as its an important part of my childhood I had to have these guys. I wasn't fond of r2 weight at first but all doubt erased when they were set up an illuminated in my besta. The price, although steep was worth it to have these guys in 1/4th scale. To others that decision could have gone either way and that's why you see many backing out. Their prerogative I suppose. Had I received these guys and they were broken, I would have made sure I got things sorted out with SS before I gave up and got a full refund. 2 each his own.

Exactly man... They complain about plastic when...shhhh... Polystone IS plastic... Just mixed with heavier sand stone materials to give the "illusion" of being expensive...just don't tell anyone ;) The DROM is a perfect example, as is the scout on speeder bike... No one complains... What about the 1/6 scale Hot Toys 89 batmobile? It's a plastic car. It looks cheap yet people rave about.

The only thing I have made of the "cheap" plastic is the Tron light cycle and I'm selling it. I don't have anything else you're talking about so I'm not in that boat.

Thing is, the r2 is not flimsy at all. Plastic yes. Flimsy no. I wouldn't even call it Cheap.

I sure understand that polystone is plastic as well.. but R2 is simply hollow plastic.. not much difference to a hasbro toy .. you can argue as much as you want but sideshow costs on R2 is not even $20 made in china (excluding paintjob)

As much as I love the look of them .. and I repeat.. I have them myself.. I need to forget how much I paid for those two because they are the most overpriced statues I have

I agree with you MYC. Hard to believe. I just would categorize them as flimsy I suppose.

While I agree that they were overpriced (499.99 would have been about right) I don't find myself ever thinking about what I paid. I love the set so much I have no regrets and would gladly pay it again :)
