"According to All About The Game's review "the single player campaign is a heart-stopping and unrelenting series of astonishing set-pieces".

Meanwhile, multiplayer will see it become the "defacto online shooter, at least until Treyarch's inevitable next release in 12 months' time and probably even for some years after that".

Although the review concedes "there's nothing in MW3 that should surprise anyone that's played any of the previous games", it goes on to say "for fans of the series... new maps, weapons, killstreaks and modes are all that's required to keep the faithful, well, faithful".

In its conclusion, the reviewer praises single-player for being a "brilliantly bombastic showcase of set-pieces and action" instead of just another "throwaway companion to the real meat and bones".

Finally, it advises players to "take Call of Duty for what it is and embrace its dumb, nonsensical and scripted, but nonetheless hugely entertaining action sensibilities."

Looking forward to borrowing this from my brother-in-law for the single player but some of the statements in that review a hilarious.

If its more of the same how will that keep people faithful? What if they've grown bored of that?

Saying its the defacto multiplayer and the next and next game will be automatically is like saying there's no competition In the genre and you might as well settle for the same again and again :slap

Sounds like that reviewer understands the CoD lifers pretty well. As long as it says Call of Duty on the front of the case, they'll buy it and love it. Of course, they'll complain constantly about the game, but still play it all year long until the next one. And when the next one comes, it'll again be more of the same and theyll again get excited and hope its better than the last "train wreck". CoD players are nothing if not predictable. I should know. Im one of them.:gah:

The noob commercial is great. Really well done for a commercial I think. I'll probably see if I can talk my folks into getting this for me as an x-mas present.

I'm about as excited about the release of this game as I am about my next poo. I hate this series and I hate that it makes so much money. It's the Michael Bay of videogaming.

:exactly: If you've got nothing good to say, then don't say anything at all. It'll only help your image. :dunno

Are you telling us that you've never said a bad thing about anything on a forum ever? Come on now.

He's just venting. No biggie as long as he doesn't spam a bunch of troll posts.

There's a difference between saying 'I hate this I hate that' and 'I have a complaint about this and that'.

If he'd said why he hates it with actual points and give his opinion, it'd be okay. But if he just says he hates it, it makes him look like a hater and an ass.

Semantics if you ask me. I see people say "I hate this" all the time on forums. It's no biggie. All part of it IMO.

I typically don't even bother playing multiplayer the first couple days. The lag is always horrible, there's numerous unexpected glitches because they don't release betas, so by the time I actually play online there is always updates to download first.

I go through the campaign mode though, glad that this time it actually counts for something other than a stupid trophy.
