I can understand the lack of availability of the hand , as there were a lot damaged. But the REG is not sold out. So why can’t they just crack one open, and send you the head and me the belt?

Even if the replacements part and the normal stock aren't the same, like jim said, bust open a regular and fix those who are messed up ffs. We want what we paid for.
With that I still haven't heard from SS in over a week about my broken ex hand and head issue... just emailed them again.

A Happy ending! Just got this E-mail! from SS

"Thank you for your email. Please know that at the time of the initial offer we were not able to offer a gun as we did not have a wait list . We have recently been informed that we will getting more parts in , however we do not have an estimated wait time for when they will get to us. For the time being I will place you on the wait list, however if you feel that you do not want to wait for the guns we can still offer the credit. The belt is on its way either way.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you so much and have a super day!

Got an email about the gun replacements, basically same thing as jimcap said. For my body they said compared to what they have they don't have anything better to replace it with. I want this with a good gun but torn on settling for these stripes, they're just wrong.

If that's your pic in front of the brown shipper, that's exactly the way mine looks too. Except that the white stripes on mine are seriously dark and dirty looking. But the stripe orientation is exactly the same. I would have preferred it look more like the proto too. Having the stripes vertical like is actually wrong, and would look bizarre if he were standing straight up. But having them contrast with the angle he's posed in here really gets across the exertion and twisting of the body better. It's a cheat that works. On the proto I also like that the stripes are wider.

As long as we are comparing these to the proto, the other big thing that sticks out to me that's a bit of a disappointment is the coloring. I would have much preferred the darker royal blue of the proto to the almost ultramarine on the production pieces. There are actually a bunch of subtle, but substantial deviations to this piece from what was solicited.

Fortunately for me, the whole ultimately outweighs the sum of it's parts.

Yeah! the stripes would bug me. But I agree with DS, I'd keep it ! Are they saying the only body replacements they have are ones with the mess up stripes? Also don't go by the prototype the stripes are a little different on the production piece but still the middle red one should be centered with the star. Good luck.

You're right and I don't expect proto level perfection but certain things like applying a shirt correctly should match up, even if the pattern is slightly altered. I have about 30 1:4 scale SS statues (both PF and Comiquettes) not including statues from other companies or other scales so I know all too well not to go just by the proto...then again I have some pieces that are indistinguishable from the proto so it's possible.

To me this is no different than buying a shirt marked "irregular". But here's what they said:

We have compared your images to stock pieces and unfortunately we do not believe we could provide you with a Body that would be an improvement. Please keep in mind that these items are hand crafted and are as unique from one another as the characters they bring to life. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused you.

If you feel that you are not fully satisfied with the item you may decide to return your item for a full refund

They are handcrafted so I don't expect absolute perfection, but I like how they use that line in bold there to justify doing things wrong.

Anyway it's such a good looking statue!

Did anyone else notice there is 1 pouch missing on the belt compared to the prototype? The one received looks bigger than the prototype pics...did they change it from 2 small ones to 1 bigger one in the final production run?

Good idea. I know when people ask them to inspect a piece before shipping they supposedly do it so it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks I'm going to call today.

The proto has thicker red stripes, the final has thicker white stripes, it all would've been so much easier if both colors wee the same thickness. It wouldn't look as bad and clearly wrong if they were off center at the same thickness but since the red stripes are thinner the eye catches the flaw much easier.
