Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I agree. Changing a character's ethnicity just to be more PC is unnessecary and bull****

These are characters that have been established for over 50 years, if a character is white, then they should be portrayed by a white actor, if they are black, then a black actor... not difficult really

:exactly::exactly::exactly::exactly:

:lecture I don't care if they change the ethnicity of a character if it's an iteration from a story that is good. (Sam Jackson) Just doing it to appease PC cry-babies is pathetic.

100% agree. Sometimes change works as with Jackson's Nick Fury. But to create change for the wrong reasons or peer pressure from PC groups is garbage! My response to them would be tough crap! The characters remain as they were intended to be! :mad:

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

So just saw the avengers deleted scenes and it showed cap finding a dossier file on peggy carter and it shows she is still alive and her address. Captain america 2 should be pretty interestin :panic:

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

As I look at this chart, I see much bound by history and geography. Norse Gods of Medieval Europe, German bad guys, a Russian agent are all Caucasian by definition
Marvel comics is arguably the most diverse medium in entertainment. Gabe Jones, Black Panther, Falcon all put in major parts in the 60's. Women became prominent heroes in the 70's as well as Power Man, Shang Chi, etc. There is more than enough diversity present in their characters and they will be expressed as the Marvel Universe grows on screen. The entire X-Men catalog is all about wiping out prejudice and hatred. Personally I think it would condescending to change a character instead of creating a character or using an existing one that already fits the description. When my brother and I went to see Avengers we brought the kids. My nephew who is half Japanese, brought his 2 best friends, a boy from Africa and a boy from India and all anyone saw were heroes and villains, not white, black or Asian characters. If things go right and we eventually get Iron Fist on screen he can share a passionate on screen kiss with Misty Knight.

I read there was over 30 mins of deleted scenes that is going to be on the disc(s). He was to have talk/seen her. I know it was filmed.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

They will probably save that footage for the beginning of CA 2 (if it's not on the Avengers deleted scenes)

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Yea the deleted scenes I have is only 14 minutes long you see him look at the phone after he sees her file like he was going to call her then it goes to a different scene of him. It was a good like 5 minutes of cap cut out before fury meets up with him at the gym of him trying to deal with modern times, it has me even more pumped for winter soldier now :blissy

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

That's pretty disappointing, actually. Sounds like they skimped out on this release.

I agree every single one of the deleted scenes were awesome and should've been in the movie. None of them were like "eh, I see why they didn't use that" they were all great.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

As long as Cap, Iron Man and Thor are white and Hulk is green, I don't care about anyone else.

Aren't they marketing it as over 30 minutes of deleted scenes?

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It was certainly advertised as 30 minutes of deleted scenes, this could mean one of three things;

1. 16 minutes have been edited into the Blu-Ray movie :rock (wishful thinking lol)

2. 16 minutes saved for another Blu-Ray release?

3. 16 minutes saved for future movies?

I hope the other scenes have not just vanished!

BTW, do we have a breakdown of each scene (name, length) like the Prometheus deleted scenes?
