I really wish one of the Marvel films would have a non white love interest. I can't even think of a non white female character in any of the Marvel Studio films.

Ben Grimm's ol' lady (though that was Fox). And if they continue with the Ultimates inspiration, Wasp will be Asian. Plus, with the introduction of Falcon (and hopefully at some point Black Panther), things should be changing.

I do hope they go the ultimates with the Wasp. I can't really think of any popular, young asian actresses though that would work well with the cast. Maybe Jamie Chung.

He's one I'd be very interesting to see on film! I hope he makes it into the TA sequel. Too bad he's not mentioned in phase II at all.

These are characters that have been established for over 50 years, if a character is white, then they should be portrayed by a white actor, if they are black, then a black actor... not difficult really

No PC bullcrap or political agendas, at least not from me.

I'm not saying they should change the race/ethnicity or a major character or hero, but characters made up or love interests (if minor, nothing like Lois Lane or Mary Jane) can easily be turned into a different race/ethnicity IMO. Did anyone care when Alicia Masters was african american in Fantastic Four? I don't think so. It's harmless.

Case in point, Maria Hill could've easily looked more like this:

I never understood why it's okay for a white character to be changed to a different ethnicity, but if a black character is changed to a white character it's a huge nono.

They changed Heimdall from white to black for Thor

and Idris Elba was one of the best things about that film

As I look at this chart, I see much bound by history and geography. Norse Gods of Medieval Europe, German bad guys, a Russian agent are all Caucasian by definition
Marvel comics is arguably the most diverse medium in entertainment. Gabe Jones, Black Panther, Falcon all put in major parts in the 60's. Women became prominent heroes in the 70's as well as Power Man, Shang Chi, etc. There is more than enough diversity present in their characters and they will be expressed as the Marvel Universe grows on screen. The entire X-Men catalog is all about wiping out prejudice and hatred. Personally I think it would condescending to change a character instead of creating a character or using an existing one that already fits the description. When my brother and I went to see Avengers we brought the kids. My nephew who is half Japanese, brought his 2 best friends, a boy from Africa and a boy from India and all anyone saw were heroes and villains, not white, black or Asian characters.
If things go right and we eventually get Iron Fist on screen he can share a passionate on screen kiss with Misty Knight.

I'm sure I'm missing a blatant one, but for the life of me, all that's popping into my head is DB Sweeny in Spawn.
