Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

But not as bad as finding out it's really Red Skull when he touches her face and it falls off in his hand... or aging 70 years all at once ala "Forever Young"... or... nevermind, just give her a magic science pill and get it on before hospice arrives!

I want Peggy to narrate the sequel. :lecture

"They called him the superhero of dreams, and he was, he really was!"

"Have you found the Cube of the Ocean Mr. Stark?"

"A woman's heart is a deep tesseract of secrets."

Now THAT was a depressing movie. Talk about the main character getting.... well, you know..... Screwed over. :(

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

She's a teacher. Thankfully she doesn't have time to pay attention to that garbage. :wink1:

Lucky her. A lot of my wife's "friends" like to announce on Facebook that they're reading that book and that it's "spicing up their sex life." We laugh because all it does is make their husbands look like losers if they can't get the job done without following in the footsteps of fan fiction characters. :lol

:lol My wife's family tried that **** years ago, and she made the mistake of mentioning that there're no problems there with our marriage. Now I get uncomfortable leering looks from her sisters.... and her mom. :monkey4 :lol

A great segment of the female population wants to be completely dominated while the other part pulls their rape whistle out at the first sign of attraction lol.

I know Cap is supposed to be a strong dude, but I think he'd have a hard time if he had to deal with one of these:

I love this country, but man we have some bat**** bloggers!

Huge Weaving made a good impression with fans when he played Captain America's arch-nemesis the Red Skull in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. It seems not everything was fun and games though.

In an interview with Collider, they brought up Marvel's tendency to contract actors for multiple films and if they'd call on him for Captain America: The Winter Soldier or Marvel's The Avengers 2. "I did that for Captain America. I think the tendency, with those films, would be to probably not bring a villain back. They might for The Avengers, but I didn’t think I’d be in Captain America 2 or 3. I don’t think Red Skull will be there. And it’s not something I would want to do again," he said, adding, "I’m glad I did it. I did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose, contractually, I would be obliged to, if they forced me to, but they wouldn’t want to force someone to do it, if they didn’t want to. I think I’ve done my dash with that sort of film. It was good to do it and try it out, but to be honest, it’s not the sort of film I seek out and really am excited by. As an actor, to do all sorts of different films is great. It stretches you in different ways. But, I increasingly like to go back to what I used to always do, which is to get involved with projects that I really have a personal affiliation with.

Though nothing has been said about the character returning for either of those films, it stands to reason that it could happen, but after these comments don't count on it.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set for release on April 4, 2014 with Marvel's The Avengers 2 hitting theaters on May 1, 2015.

Yet playing Agent Smith in 2 lame Matrix sequels (and soon to do so in a 3rd) is somehow more gratifying? :lol

:lol Exactly!

Or what about Elrond? He's playing him even more than Smith! :panic:

Too bad Hugo doesn't seem to like this type of film. I guess V for Vendetta didn't prepare him for a comic film? Or the two previously mentioned trilogies? :cuckoo:

Red Skull definately needs to come back though. Avengers put that nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. Skull got beamed to Mars or whatever, he didn't get toasted. He's out there somewhere and definatley needs to come back, he is the Arch nemesis afterall :dunno

He needs to leave his schedule open for Adventures of Priscilla 2.

There's got to be more to this story. On the surface, it sounds really lame!

What an interesting statement! I don't think he's doing that 'negotiating in the press' thing I hate so much - he's pretty much flat out said he doesn't want to come back, period. There's not much wiggle room. What it reads like is Weaving setting the foundation for his excuse if Marvel forces him back for another movie and he phones it in - which essentially is the threat.

Would Marvel force him back? They have the clout. But maybe it would be worth it for them to recast the role, or to have the Skull never again appear as the Skull but rather take over the bodies of others before turning their faces into skulls (he's done that in the comic a couple of times).

I guess there's one more final possibility: Red Skull is appearing in a cameo in Iron Man 3 and Weaving is giving some Marvel-mandated disinfo. This is actually not the least likely possibility, but I don't think it's the case. I think he just genuinely isn't interested in doing it again.

Doesn't matter. Weaving is contractually obligated for more films. If he doesn't want to do it now, after Disney's lawyers get finished shoehorning their strap-on into his ass, he'll not only finish his contract, but sign on for the duration and maybe even a few cameos on the SHIELD show. :lol
