I'd be shocked if he took it.
It just doesn't sound like his bag, plus enjoys being behind the camera more these days.
His political stances aside I like alot of his work.

I can't help but think he'll really be playing Nick Fury. I know that would open up a whole can of worms, but that's just what I felt he'd play when I heard it would be a "senior SHIELD" agent.

Okay . . . in the background of a scene there will be a piece of cured bacon that will resemble R.R.'s face and when Steve Rodgers is fed a powerful dose of lysergic-psylocibin23 the bacon will morph into Redford's classic visage and lecture him about the true alternate history of his beloved country.
