Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Anyone else surprised by the amount of new faces (allies and villains) in the movie? I guess I was expecting a more personal and singular feud between Cap and the Winter Soldier. Some additions are expected (Marvel wants to expand the movie U and that takes characters), and some make it look like it's Cap & Friends vs Winter Soldier's Rogue's Gallery. The positive out of this for me is Red Skull will have to return in the third movie; they're out of big name Cap Villains :lol (aside from Zemo)

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

:lol they get Captain America first....

Hey, as long as we get the next James Bond film first, that should be OK right? :dunno

I was pissed they got Iron Man first, but why in the **** are they getting Captain AMERICA first? That's just plain treason on Marvel's part right there. Why are they letting the country AMERICA rebelled from to create AMERICA get a movie splattered in red, white, and blue first? :slap

What you're saying would make perfect sense if the United States was a country.

But it's a business.

Country is just the name of that business. :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Having had her role significantly scaled back for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hayley Atwell has frequently discussed her interest in exploring Peggy Carter further in a character-specific spin-off.

While that had initially sounded very much like a hypothetical proposition, it now seems that Marvel has been paying attention, and is set to bring Atwell's idea to fruition in a new One-Shot.

“Fans of the first film really wanted to find out what happened to Peggy afterwards," revealed Atwell to The Big Issue, "so Marvel are also making a short film, which is basically ‘What Peggy Did Next’. It will be shown at Comic-Con and be on the DVD extras of the second film."

Atwell is also set to reappear in the sequel itself, but presumably only in a handful of flashback scenes, with her relationship with Steve Rogers cruelly cut short at the end of the last film.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Actor Toby Jones has played a lot of interesting parts in his career, but definitely one that got a lot of fans excited was when he appeared as the Red Skull’s right hand man, Arnim Zola, in Captain America: The First Avenger. That was the '40s incarnation of Zola where he was a scientist, but when it was announced Jones would be returning for the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, fans of the Cap villain probably got more excited that we might see him in his more recognizable robotic form.

When we spoke with Jones earlier today about his creepy new thriller Berberian Sound Studio, he wouldn’t tell us how big a part he has in the new Cap movie, but he did give us a brief tease that fans of the character should be happy with the way that Zola is brought back.

"All I can say about it is that I was pleased to be brought back," he told us. "I thought I might be--because you'd know better than I do--but Zola finds a way to defeat time and you won't be disappointed with the way that's been treated in the film, that's what I would say."

So yeah, Jones didn’t have a lot to say, but we probably can safely assume Zola's going to have an interesting part in the "Winter Soldier" storyline and will be in his more common form after teasing it briefly in The First Avenger.

Look for the rest of our interview with Toby Jones over on ShockTillYouDrop.com sometime closer to when Berberian Sound Studio is released on June 14.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Glad they are both back in the sequel!

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It'd be interesting if Thanos recruited him, too, and he's off doing something terrible somewhere in the galaxy.
