Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Audiences not buying Wakanda is equivalent to audiences not buying magic in a Iron Man story. Nonsense. Falcon may not have had many memorable individual stories, but he was a friend and partner to Cap for a long time. He's as much a part of Cap's story as anyone else, and warrants being in the movie. Plus, he was an interesting character in that he was part of the inner city community, was a social worker, and former criminal. I do have fears about how they are going to deal with him in the movie though, since it appears as if they are making him just another military commando a la Hawkeye or Rhodey.

Luke Cage is another character, falsely accused criminal, government experiments, protects the inner city. A better character than Falcon. i get that Falcon is part of Cap's story, but so are T'Challa and Wakanda. Hell is shield is made from Vibranium which is only found in Wakanda.

I agree with your opinions of Black Panther and on Anthony Mackie, but how is he missing the point? He's enthusiastic about his character. And Falcon does have his fans.

But yes, I'd love to see a Panther film. Maybe portrayed by the guy who played Jackie Robinson in 42.

i get that he's excited. he should be. His career is starting to take the positive turn he had always hoped. But he's still the sidekick. And lets be honest we are never going to get a Falcon movie. Hell at this rate Fury and he are going to be the only black "superheroes" to probably make it to the screen. And neither is all that great. Fury will never take centerstage in an Avenger film, and Sam Jackson is too old to show how much of a badass Fury was when he was younger.

And his talk about kids looking up to Falcon is great but compare Falcon to BP. T'Challa is the King and Spiritual Leader of his people. He is Cap's equal physically. One of the 4 smartest people in all of Marvel. Maybe only behind Reed. He's part of the Illuminati(Marvel version). Is from the most advanced nation on Earth. And he can't even get a hand wave from Disney... But we can get a talking racoon with a gun. Or QuickSilver and Scarlett Witch in the next Avengers. But no BP. And then the **** in charge says people won't buy Wakanda for whatever bull**** reason he makes up. I loved the 1st Cap and will see this, but Marvel/Disney is making it clear where they stand.

And yeah the guy from 42 would be awesome. I always wanted Chewetel Eijofor to play BP, but he's getting old. And I don't think he would take the part.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I want to see the Black Panther on the screen, but I don't think he should be stuck into a Cap story just so he can make a big screen appearance. Frankly, I think he's too important a character for that. If he's going to be a part of the Marvel Universe, then he should probably be involved in his own film, or in a future Avengers movie rather than being shoehorned into Winter Soldier or some other story where he isn't really a factor. Falcon is a Cap supporting character who probably isn't going to get much attention outside of a Cap film, so it makes sense to put him in this kind of movie in a supporting role of some kind. Luke Cage would probably make most sense on that SHIELD show if they aren't going to do a Heroes for Hire movie with him and Iron Fist (would love it if they did).

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Luke Cage had no connection to SHIELD last i read him.

I know Cage is an Avenger, but I do not think he has any ties to SHIELD. But I don't remember Falcon having any outside of the Ultimate Universe. But I could be wrong.

If Cage was going to be on that SHIELD show, I would watch it. As it stands right now, I have no interest. Using Coulson(who I never understood all the love for) and a bunch of other no name not real characters, is pointless. A TV show is perfect for Secret Avengers. And a way to jumpstart lesser known characters like Cage and Iron Fist.

I agree I want BP to have his own movie. But at the rate it's going I just don't see it happening. I think the comic book movie bubble is going to bust unfortunately. I hope i'm wrong, but it just seems like something has to give. Add to that that i have no faith in Disney to even try.

Like I said i am looking forward to Cap 2, as the first film was my favorite of the Marvel movies. Chris Evans surprised the hell out of me as Cap, and if i was collecting Marvel HT stuff Cap would be my first purchase. i might pick up this version as I loved his Captain Rogers SHIELD Agent look. Heck if he's entertaining, I might consider Falcon.

WOW

LOL It is a nice one. Simple and effective.

:lecture:exactly:

That date is easy to remember :yess:

I forgot the date already. :lol

BP will be a movie, no bubble here, move along.

Awesome. Very reminiscent of the original "June 23rd" Batman teaser, which Cap has tried to copy before:

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

What date? What were we talking about?

You think they'd do that? Even though he plays Heimdall in Thor?

Depends how expanded his role is in Thor 2.

His helmet covers him up pretty good.

But more importantly, remember who played Johnny Storm. :lecture

But now that you made me think about it

Nah, no chance in hell Marvel giving it to Isildur Elba. :lol

Hope they don't ruin the use of any proper characters.

Cage and Fist deserve a movie not just a TV show. If Maria nothing Hill gets to be in a movie, Fist damn sure should get to.

He's too busy making monster faces and canceling apocalypses anyway.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Luke Cage must be that ghetto guy, not cocky Prometheus captain.

Luke has never really been written that way. In fact at times he seems to have the most common sense out of all the Marvel characters. I especially love his response to Superhuman Registration during Civil War.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I know but he must be relatable and that's the perfect way.

Yeah, i don't want ghetto Luke Cage. I know plenty of black people(like myself) who are not ghetto. That's not relatable. It's insulting. But knowing Disney, he will be a walking stereotype, so you'll get your wish.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Luke Cage won't be the Ghetto hero, that's racist, he'll just be an actor hired to pretend to be Luke Cage to cover up the Real Luke Cage; Seth Rogen
