Got a new picture of the Mark 46.

It's rumored to be made up of nano machines that Tony mentally controls so it really seems they're going full on Bleeding Edge here. And it looks much better from this angle. I like the helmet now.

Well ... new plan. Get Mark 43, hopefully Hulkbuster ... skip 45 and wait for 46.

Youll never have the newest iron man. Theres always another figure on deck

I'll probably end up ordering Black Widow (Gotta collect 'em all!), Winter Soldier (if it's different enough), Hawkeye, and Iron Man.

One does not simply cancel the most iconic movie Iron Man armor.

It's not a decision I take lightly. I've already got the Mark 7 Stealth coming in, and I only want to have one red/gold Iron Man figure in my collection. Having one red/gold and one off-color Iron Man is my way of sidestepping my "one figure per character" rule. The Mark 3 is my favorite movie armor so far, but this look at the 46 is making me seriously rethink that. It's taken over the 43's place as "the Mark 3 alternative."

Although another option is to get the Mark 3, then re-evaluate things when the 46 figure is released/announced.

I think hot toys really made a mistake not showing the 45 yet. I don't think many people will be purchasing that after seeing this. I mean, I will likely be buying 45. But I feel most people like this new one better.

And yeah, I sure as hell hope this doesn't have under skin nano tech. I would hate that.

People like this one better? One that they have not even seen? Makes perfect sense. Dump one armor they raved about for months, all while having never actually seen it, then saw it, but still have not seen the figure they are passing on...in favor of an early concept drawing of an armor that may or may not actually get translated to the screen, or may or may not be the only armor in the film...all at about the same time the next set of concept art for the next movie comes out. People should maybe stop falling in or out of love with things that they may or may not ever see until they actually see them. People.

I love how every new armor is now the "bleeding edge armor".

While I did say it reminded me of the Bleeding Edge, I meant more in terms of aesthetics than actual functionality (just like how the Mark 3 was visually-inspired by the Extremis suit but didn't have the nano-tech).

Though what you said about the different lights and how it serves to power up the different sections sounds really cool.
Can't wait to see how it works onscreen. :hi5:

No need to get worked up over it but I do see your point. I guess the most important thing to remember with these mega-franchises is how much you like the design and if its role in a film really struck you as something desirable/significant for the character (i.e. Civil War being a huge game-changer for IM and Cap's relationship). I myself have never bought an IM suit (crazy I know), and because I didn't like how HT handled the Mark 3, I'm currently setting my sights on this one mainly because it's specifically going to be based on the Civil War story.

Omg forget 46 it will be what's in Infinity War, the mark 47, 48 and 49. Actually they'll probably make 50 his final suit, the one he finally carks it in! Lol

Honestly though, barely any AoU figures are even out yet and we're already jumping to the next movie? Maybe we should just wait till Infinity War 2 is here and then we can decide what figures to get.

Now that would have been a good conversation post Iron Man 1..

"Wow man, did you see that movie? I'm so getting a Hot Toys MkIII...."

"Nah man, just wait until Infinity War 2 and get a Mk51.."

It's a bit like the whole cliche of wanting to buy a Receiver or Amplifier, but waiting for the next generation of features... But tech upgrades that quickly, that you wait and something better comes along while you are waiting anyway.. Enjoy your hobby now. You never know if there will be a tomorrow, and it becomes yesterday really fast...

:exactly: sometimes waiting for the next one pays off, but you can also get stuck in an infinite loop of 'wait for the next one' :lol

Well, that doesn't surprise me at all - there's not a lot of urgency with these figures anymore because the collecting community knows HT will make another version from the next movie, and the one after that, etc......with only a an exception here or there.

If you want to get (and CAN get) all of the versions, that's great, but a lot of people pick and choose either due to cost or simply that they feel they don't want so many of one character. That tends to be when "waiting for the next movie" comes into play.

And how do you know the 46 will be better? Or even look like that?

Well I'm new, but after seeing your comments I can see why nobody likes you, geez :cuckoo:

Stop acting like someone just punched your child, some people don't want to buy the 45 and now that's a problem? This forum is super friendly. I won't buy that suit it's not for me, it's not even worth it to explain why
