I don't understand why Marvel has yet to show Sharon Carter and Scarlet Witch in the same promo shots or footage. It's like they can only show two females at a time or something :dunno

Hopefully Sharon's role wasn't cut again to focus on another female in the film. I'm holding out hope since she's high on the cast credits and has lego and funko figures.

There was a lot of resistance to RDJ for Iron Man and look how that paid off. Some of the best success isn't planned.

I get what you're saying, but it was still planned. Yes, Favreau really pushed for RDJ but it's not like he was a last minute decision. They cast him very early in the pre production phase and the only gamble was whether he could keep himself out of trouble long enough to carry a franchise.
 
I thought it was slightly more complicated than that.

Didn't all of the Hollywood insurance companies refuse to insure him then the studio didn't want to pay his ultra high premium.

I think you're both right - it was the size of the gamble.
