Wow. Such a good scene. That's the kind of thing I love about these movies. Not just the action, but the conflict and drama that drives the action. Otherwise it's all just empty fluff.

I'm kind pissed everyone will compare this to BVS, then to top it off the storylines are nearly identical so now everyone will say bvs copied CW or vice versa.

The downside of early screenings is that if the Chinese market gets ahold of it, we will see cam vids of this.

When age of ultron came out I practically watched it before I saw it on the theater by a day difference

Steve's logic is sound I'm surprised it doesn't sway Visions analytical personality.
Itll be interesting to see if every character gets to voice their opinion on the accords or if the writers cheap out and just say I agree with Tony or I agree with Steve.
Tony is so stupid, he seems to have forgotten the govt trying to take away the IronMan tech as if they owned the intellectual property rights and the guy leading the charge was a Hydra mole.
Tony also thwarted the nuking of NY by the kind of group that wants to control him, so Steve better call him on his hypocrisy of taking his own initiative and diverting that missile.
Hydra can't infiltrate the U.N.?
Lol at Rhodey a U.S. military officer defending the U.N. trying to exert control over a sovereign countries citizens super powered or not.

Seriously, the discussion better be deep and fairly long and hypocrisy called between the characters about govt oversight in this movie or I'm going to be disappointed.

That's my problem with this setup, too. Unless we're missing something (which is hopefully the case and the film goes into it) there is no good reason why ANY of these characters should be agreeing with the Accords.

I have faith it's not as simple as Tony, Rhodey, et al simply agreeing with it. Because that would be a total cop-op and not in line with their characters and previous experiences. It would also, as you said, make them look pretty dumb. But I don't think it will play out like that. The movie has to make a solid case for the Accords so that not only does it make sense for some of the Avengers to buy into it and agree, but part of the audience as well.

That was before the alien invasion led by a god from some other world and the destruction from AOU, which Tony is responsible for. Also something happens in this new film that causes more problems, so Tony's opinion and views can't change? A lot has happened since Iron Man 2. From the trailers it looks like CA is defending Bucky, who is a criminal and seen as a threat, so again I can understand why Tony might view CA as a potential problem.

Tony of late has felt afraid that the team wouldn't be enough against coming threats, there has to be something that sways him over to seeing the team as the same as his tech in IM1 where he feels they're more a threat the world if not under the right control than let loose.

Yes, but none of that leads to a logical conclusion that Stark would just put full trust in (and surrender the freedom of him as his friends) to a single government body. ESPECIALLY after the **** they pulled at the end of Avengers as well as Hydra having infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. There absolutely has to be something more, and strong, behind his position here.

I'm banking on the notion that the trailers have been cleverly deceptive with some of this stuff. I'm betting it will be meatier.

Also, one of the reasons Tony didn't want to give the government his technology was because he felt the world was safe with him in control...which he demonstrated when he sabotaged the "competition's" technology during the hearing. The world has change since IM2 and he no longer feels in control. Isn't he the one in charge of building that super prison in the new film?

I think Tony thinks he will be in charge or in control of this organization or whatever it is. He tells Steve, “If we don’t do this now, it will be done to us later”. So he probably thinks if he gets ahead of it and works at the top level of it, the Govt won’t be able to exert their agendas on them.

Of course we all know that it’s wishful thinking or blind hope, or arrogance on Tony’s part to think that the Govt doesn’t have some kind of ace up its sleeve that will allow them to pull all the strings, and there will be that moment when Tony realizes Steve was right all along.

If that turns out to be the case, then Stark is the clear antagonist/villain of the film. But I doubt that will be the case... They're promising something more even-handed and more anguished. Again, there's gotta be something more.

What if Tony is one of the people in charge of that "new" government body?

The world has change since IM2 and he no longer feels in control.

Remember his Burger King speech way back in IM1: "I saw that I had become part of a system with no accountability."

So he'd already had his conscience awakened by Yinsen & events in Afghanistan.
Then he gets PTSD from the Battle of New York in Avengers.
His cockiness is shattered by the scope of the threat that exists beyond Earth.

Plus . . . don't forget that
Baron Zemo is working his machinations to manipulate the various power struggles.

Supposedly Alfre Woodard plays a mother of an American soldier who dies as a result of Ultrons shinnagans and she's got some emotionally charged choice words for Tony and that's part of the catalyst for Tony's new perspective.
Who knows, but the Avengers should be leery of Tony's emotional "reasonings" by now as they usually tend to be off the mark.
However, Steve could possibly undermine his own logic and stance by going to bat for such a notorious assassin as Winter Soldier, brain washed or no.
Especially if Tony gets that bit of info about his parents.....at.....just....the....worst...........moment............BOOM!
