Reach TFA status

There is no way they will make this Red Carpet Premiere anywhere near the mega-sized event TFA's was, or spend as much money on it. They spent crazy money on the TFA premiere (in the millions of dollars). That one literally shut down 4 full blocks of Hollywood Blvd for 3 days so that they could build a tent over the entire street. That became the red carpet. Inside was done up like the inside of a Star Wars set. It was the biggest event in Hollywood history in size and scope. Bigger than the Oscars.

That said, Red Carpet Premieres have little to no effect on box office.

I'm shocked that the red carpet premiere for this is today..20 plus days early :horror

and they also screened it for the critics already, it was last friday. I see no reason not to hold the screenings and premieres for it this early, Marvel clearly thinks they have a benchmark type of film here, and considering this was Kevin Feiges idea, I'm sure he's damn proud of this film, considering the things I've heard about it from the people that saw it on Friday.

It's gotta be to try and match TFA popularity. They didn't even do this with any of the Avengers movies or IM, CAP etc :horror

The movie should of been a masterpiece and made bank. It should of been made years ago.

Sure, but true masterpieces are truly rare.
Especially with Hollywood tentpole-blockbuster-franchise Money Trains.
At this point in the recipe, there are too many chefs and too many expectations.
Success has a thousand fathers, and failure is an orphan.

BvS made serious bank ... it just didn't make crazy Avengers billions.

Will Cap 3 be a masterpiece? If so, will it be the first superhero flick to qualify as such?

Some would say Iron Man, The Dark Knight, The Winter Soldier already have been.

I'm partial to Catwoman, Ghost Rider: Flaming Urine, and Fan4stic: Prolapsed Sphincter myself.

But what do I know? :dunno

I'm thinkin' Civil War might be something special, though. :rolleyes2

I don't want to even think about CW potentially being a masterpiece. That might raise my expectations too high. I'd rather come into the theater with a neutral mindset.

On Marvel having a cinematic universe headstart, it's pretty much DC's fault they squandered their chance. WB has had DC for years now, and BB came out before IM. It's too bad that they are trying to rush to catch up now.

Can't wait to hear the heights of gushing praise and the additional slams on BvS within the reviews!!!!:rotfl

Boy I know- I'm hoping it wll be great.....if it is it will be the benchmark Marvel film because TWS was heads above 95% of the Marvel films. The Russos might be their not-so-secret weapon

Every cap film thus far isn't about the good guys vs the bad guys or heroes vs villains. It seems about politics, character growth and emotional turmoil, the theme of who do you trust

So I see this film being intense but not as out of the box with the Avenger films.

This film will focus more human drama and the casualties :lecture

Could outshine TWS with the message of the movie
