The problem with this near perfect trilogy is that you can't just walk into the MCU cold and just watch Cap 1/2/3 and call it a day, they will make no freaking sense. :lol

Just think of every MCU film ever made as a very long TV episode. :D

Affleck's is legendary at this point!

Dat baby. :lol

I've seen the movie 3 times and there is one thing I've been unable to catch
when Natasha and T'Challa are discussing finding Bucky, he asks her if she knows where he is and Widow replies that she knows someone who does... And next thing you know they're all at the airport in Berlin. Who the hell was she talking about?"

To be fair, that's also the result of the long-term world-building by Marvel. Having solo films for these characters or seeing them before in other films gives them some history you can lean on. The Russos just built on that.
This is my last DC related post I promise.

I found myself thinking a lot and reading many analyzes on MoS and BvS, in a way I can't with most MCU movies because there's not much to think about, MoS and BvS are so dense, every single frame has so many things going on.

I think the Russos are better filmmakers than Whedon,, easily, it's a night and day difference between Avengers/AoU and Civil War.

I can't speak for the photography because I saw it in stupid 3D and it butchers the experience, but dialogue, story, plot, etc etc. It's mature, it's complex and sophisticated, and it's even funny without being complete cringe, also dare I say it's as realistic in it's take of Superhero conflict as BvS, maybe even more, which hurts to say :lol

All of which with WAY more stuff going on and more characters than Age of Ultron, which is often used as an apology for Whedon.
Speaking of form, did you know that HawkEye is the worst cinematic archer ever? His form is terrible to the point that he looks like a novice. Also, he wore two guards on his forearms in the first Avengers film which is something that even amateur archers don't need. :lol

Really? Are you mocking my nitpicking or is that legit? :lol

I think she knew that Sharon Carter was going to help out and had them followed!

I think Hulk's destruction in Wakanda was contained in AOU but it was the start no doubt.

Superman saved the Earth but Metropolis paid the price for it.

Avengers saved the Earth but Manhattan and Sokovia paid the price for it.

Would humans really turn against their saviors in that manner?

I was wondering about that too!
Why are people pissed at the Avengers for saving New York?
The alien invasion wasn't their fault.
A God was going to use aliens take over the world...would people rather be enslaved or be free?
The Washington D.C. wasn't all Caps fault...Hydra took over and was going to kill millions!
Again would people want millions dead to spare billions?
Sokovia was Starks fault by making Ulton clearly !
The Avengers had to clean up...so if the Avengers didn't help the world would have been taken over or Hydra would have won!!!

Hulk's AOU rampage was in South Africa wasn't it?

We don't get our first glimpse of Wakanda until this movie.

After my first viewing of Civil War I think I'd have to say I liked The Winter Soldier better.

Ditto.

TWS is more intimate, has bigger stakes and there's actual weight to the outcome of it all.

Cap's evolution in that film is stellar. He starts the film as SHIELD's 007/Bourne and ends the film burning SHIELD to the ground.

Civil War barely explored Cap. It didn't add any new layers to his development. TWS explored the loneliness of being a relic, the fear of being a soldier for the wrong side.

CW never took the time to explore Cap's internal struggle. It was too busy doing that for Tony.

Real, there's even an article on the subject. Then some people complained that it was unfair to compare an actor to a professional archer (even though Stallone who is an actor had great form) so they compared Renner's form to an 11 year old amateur archer, and she's still miles better than JR :lol

:lol I hope they fixed it for CW. Although I wouldn't be able to tell if they did :lol

I hope Flash runs like a proper sprinter.

Give it an 8/10
Had a stupid ass teenager next to me talking to her mom the whole time. Ruined my experience a little bit. Absolutely loved Spiderman!
The ESB line put a giant smile on my face, pun intended
Really surprised there were no deaths either.

Hopefully I can fully enjoy the next viewing.
