Eh, I don't see anything wrong with diversity and representation, but I will agree things have gone overboard. Midnighter and Apollo are prime examples of LGBT characters done right. Gillen's Young Avengers is not. Making Cap Bi now would be rather stupid. In Tumblr's mind, a bromance can't exist. If they knew aboutPredator, Rocky and all that, I guarantee you the ships would've been too many to count.

Cap will never be gay in the MCU. It's not gonna happen. Maybe we'll get a less popular superhero who's gay, but Cap? Nah. They can't AFFORD to, with the Chinese market.

But I could definitely see a bi female/lesbian character happening soon, to appeal to the horny fanboys.

It wouldn't even be logical to have Cap be gay... He loved Peggy. Now he clearly has feelings for Sharon. People just love shipping Cap and Bucky and apparently some news sites have latched onto that. Silly. Nothing will come of it except fanart and fanfiction. People ship My Little Pony characters, for God's sake. Doesn't mean anything these days. It's just what the Internet is for. That, and Rule 34.....

Why do gay characters bother some people so much? I remember some people upset at the thought that Poe from TFA could be gay. Who cares? It's not like they are changing a character just for the sake of changing them if they introduce a new gay character. Same thing when people were making a fuss about Elsa from Frozen potentially being a lesbian. Does this stuff really torment and bother people that much where it affects their enjoyment of a film?

Same thing goes for race bending and films being more diverse...

Capt is clearly not gay...but Luke Skywalker, he could totally be gay since he's probably one of the few film protagonist/hero without a love story or any interest in women.

For some folks, yeah, it's a BIG DEAL. I love going on Facebook every time an LGBTQ character pops up on, say, The Walking Dead or Once Upon a Time, and soccer moms and dads are just raaaaaaging.

Mind you, some people are okay/comfortable with it and just don't want a character's sexuality changed willy nilly/because of a social media push. And I get where they're coming from. Although...I don't think I've ever seen a gay character who was clearly gay for the sake of political correctness...? I get what they're saying but I've never personally witnessed this fear realized on a TV show/movie, y'know? Whereas numerous times I've felt a character's heterosexuality is established for no reason other than to have some titillating sex scenes to draw in audience members. Like, it doesn't ADD anything. Except boobies.

But look, even *I* think making MCU Cap gay (the current Cap, that is) would be silly. But again, it's not gonna happen. I've seen some people on FB getting their panties all twisted up over this, and it's hilarious. People have nothing to worry about. Relaaax.
