I'm not even familiar with that
I'm just talking regular, human Crossbones who over the years has proved himself capable of standing his ground and then some against Cap. Of course, the Russos or whomever is assisting with the script may change that, but there was a scene during Brubaker's Cap run where Crossbones shows up and just beats the **** out of him, despite Cap's abilities, because Cap was so emotionally drained with all the drama surrounding him. And Crossbones essentially calls him a ***** and walks away, because he isn't a challenge worth his time. He has obvious physical disadvantages (which he is apparently supplementing in this film),
but has advantages in that he's crafty, has no scruples, uses weapons, and probably has as strong a will as anyone else he runs across, including Cap.
