Cool. I'll be watching for it. I have the book on order but if they had a special edition out there I'd get it as well.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Just a hunch. Haven't heard anything about a Special Edition Art book at SDCC. But given the timing & demographics they'd be foolish not to do something like that.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I wouldn't be shocked at all since the movie opens that week and it would be good business I'd think.

Never really been a big CA fan and the trailer didn't make me want to become one. Hope the fans enjoy it though.

Captain America: The First Avenger to Keep Title in Most Countries

By SuperHeroHype
Jul 5th, 2011

Except for Russia, Ukraine and South Korea

The New York Times reports that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios will use the Captain America: The First Avenger title for all but three countries overseas. Renaming movies for international territories happens quite often.
According to the newspaper, Paramount and Marvel were planning on releasing the film as "The First Avenger" in foreign countries, but Paramount's international unit objected, arguing that Captain America had too much brand value.
The studios decided that the comic book adaptation would keep its full name is all but three countries: Russia, Ukraine and South Korea.
The Times says that reasons for those countries are "culture and politics in addition to brand awareness... But anti-American sentiment was also a factor."

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Yeah, you're right about that. I remember when Thor was announced and the first pics of him were shown... there was so much negativity about it... I guess it showed them.

Hopefully Cap will do the same! :rock :rock :rock

I still don't like the guy they used for Thor. I loved the movie and he acted the part well. But I think he was too damned perfect to be a warrior god. They should have used someone more grizzled than the jeans model they used.

LOL...there should be a Rick Astley gif like this.

Thor usually looks pretty perfect in the comics. Pretty much that way in Mighty Thor.
