^By referring to the characters in Watchmen as "The Watchmen" you have just committed one of the greatest comic book related sins there is.

Oh, and Belloq was announced to be on the Pro as well.

Depends. If the group is called Watchmen and he didn't intend to include "the" in the name by leaving it lowercase, it's correct. Police are just called police, but you call "the Police." However, if he meant to include it in the name, then yeah, 1000 lashes with Odowan's wet noodle!

It makes absolute sense to me about the bodies. The newer lines, Jones and Joe, should utilize the new body. I get flamed for it every time I say it but while I do like the Prometheus and understand the armored bodies necessity, I still prefer my non-armored Star Wars releases on the Buck. It makes them all look consistent across the line rather than having the Buck, then the Pro on the same shelf, looking out of place together.

Yeah, odd that Indy figures and GI Joe figures have all been Prometheus... yet we have not had a single SW figure on the Prometheus :duh Why splurge on their biggest line :lol

Star Wars is in Troop mode right now. Since troopers are background characters, and people are more likely to army build a bit, doesn't it make sense to keep costs down by using the Buck? Once we get past that, I'm sure we'll have some nice announcements of major characters on the Pro.

Quit making sense.

Well nobody troops don't need the Pro.

And GI Joe > Star Whores.

That's the point--the group is not called either "Watchmen" or "The Watchmen." If he had referred to them as "The Minutemen" or "The Crimebusters" then he would be safe. While "Watchmen" is the title of the graphic novel, there is no group of crimefighters in the story that go by that name.

Anyway, back to Captain Antilles.

Do you do diaper shots with Alan Moore? You're ballbusting over a marketing campaign designed to get people to go see the movie and learn that for themselves. Tell you what. Here's the email to DC's marketing department: [email protected]. Feel free to write in and complain to them about their "unsuccessful" marketing campaign for the movie and the comic.

WTF?!?

Alan Moore is the creator of DC's Watchmen, V for Vendetta, etc.., and is a filthy, snobbish recluse. He hates franchising and absolutely despises the comic book industry for capitalizing on it's superheroes... despite the fact that it is what pays his bills and made him the celebrity he is today. He's basically one of those hypocritical @$$holes who says "fight the power" yet never hesitates to take a royalty check from them.

When did this thread derail?... You do realize that we've probably got a thread or two where THE Watchmen could be discussed...:monkey1:lol

I was thinking that I would buy this if the exclusive accessory was interesting, like a choking head or something. As it stands, I took one look at the preorder page, snickered, and went about my day. Sorry Sideshow, this one's not worth it.

Why does every freaking SW thread have to derail into crappy talk about crap comic book movies! WTF!

;)

I would have liked to have been able to pose this figure in Vader's grasp, with a couple of stormtroopers flanking vader. But without a Vader "choking hand" and even more important, a "choking headsculpt" for the Capt., it would look ridiculous. At $70.00 plus shipping, it's just getting too expensive for me. Throw in the fact that it's on the Buck body and it's a pass for now. Perhaps later on down the road when it's dropped to sub $50. But I do like the figure, though. Just missing some items to have made it a must-have pickup.
