First, sorry to whine and drag up an old topic that has already been beat into the ground, but with all the hype in the newsletter (above) to try to sell Antilles using the "choking" angle, I just starting thinking that I wish Sideshow would consider including a variant choke expression head sculpt or at least a Vader choking hand. Did this rub anyone else the wrong way besides me? I mean, how in the heck is he a "perfect compliment to Darth Vader" when it appears there is no choking hand with Vader, only the force choke with the exclusive and Antilles only comes with a neutral facial expression? I'm still not convinced that this hand will work to achieve a choking pose. Don't get me wrong, I am just as big a fan of SS as anyone. I have all the exclusives in my collection or on pre-order, but I just felt this was sort of a slap in the face.

I most certainly do not need to re-create a scene from the movie to enjoy the figure. I think he will look awesome next to 2 or 3 RFTs after a couple of head swaps on those!

I disagree Carl, with Vader looming people will be all over this figure. Never underestimate the power of background 2 line characters.

I passed on Antilles (have to be choosy nowadays), but the email made me very tempted! So it ALMOST worked on me!

It's odd they keep justifying Antilles as basically an accessory to Vader... yet no choking hand.


If I get any ANH Rebel dudes from the opening, its gonna be the RFT. I have Antilles on preorder but he's a certainty to get the ax at his price-point, unless SS tosses in something extra (hint, hint).

Man, they are getting desperate! See, now this really ticks me off with the whole choking thing and practically begging for sales. If I was really an a** (which I'm not), I'd love to respond back to Jeff Dean @ SS and tell him that he would probably get more sales of this figure if he would listen to the collectors who he is trying to sell this to and consider what Wor-Gar is suggesting above and most of us have been screaming since Antilles was put up for pre-order. Oh well, I guess some folks are talking with their wallets and SS doesn't have the number of orders they'd like to have. Wish I had that will-power, but I'm a completist and just can't say no. Unfortunately without help from me, I hope they are getting the message to listen to what collectors want. It's not just about putting out a figure, it's about the whole package (good figure, accurate clothing & sculpt, great accessories (i.e Vader's choking hand or "UGH" choking face), etc.)
