just because bane looks like hulk in the comic, doesnt mean he has to look like one in the movie. he just need to give the impression he's big enough and strong enough to break the bat. impression counts more than sheer size. and then hardy's acting will take care of the rest.

guy is damn good actor if you dont mind me saying so.

he was taller, barely...they probably forced her to wear flats throughout the whole movie.

So? Makes him appear as if he's a "6 foot Bat". Not once in that film does he look short. Maybe at the party at Wayne Manor, but that's it.

John Rhys Davis was one of the tallest actors in LOTR (6'1", 6'2"), yet his character was how tall? 4 foot nothing?

Hardy as Bane should be fine.

i'm sorry but are we watching the same movie? keaton was batman in that movie.. but never gave me the impression of a 6 foot batman..

That's a good call, DiFabio. I could see Nolan and Co. doing a digital enlargement on Hardy ala Hagrid in HP, rather than a muscle suit or MoCap solution. All will be revealed in about 17 months...

The real question is, does height matter on a big screen, or IMAX for that matter?

Hell, there was a great example in another thread a few days ago. I had no idea that Franco Columbo was so short. He played a Terminator from a future flashback scene in the original Terminator.

Look at that. In the film though, you assume he's just as big and tall as Arnold.

Hardy/Bane will be fine.

Or just do the simple foreground and background trick. Audiences will never know due to perspective and camera angles.

those are all pretty good selection of screen grabs, but the screen grabs you should be showing is the ones of Keaton and Basinger in wayne manor... with Robert Wuhl...

and the fullshot of them running away from the joker goons.

Yeah, and Keaton is a giant compared to Tom Cruise. Egg crates and camera angles make all the difference.

Don't need to, already said it,

Maybe at the party at Wayne Manor, but that's it.

That's one scene though, and it's certainly not enough to take anyone out of the film. The rest of the time he never looks out of place, especially in the Batsuit.

Not when he's sitting there brooding, not when he's lifting a punk over a roof ledge, not when he's lifting Jack Napier over his head.

Don't worry about Bane, it'll look fine.

I heard that Marion Cotillard was suppose to be Nolan's first choice for the Cat Woman. But since she is pregnant, Nolan went with Anne Hathaway. Which Blows...:slap

I heard that he offered her the role and she passed.

I was hoping for Hathaway or Theron, so I'm happy that she did.

Hathaway was smoke in GET SMART and was the only aspect of that film that held my attention.

I was just browsing the web today and came across this:
250435-7207-119365-1-batman-gotham-knigh_super.jpg

Nolan instantly came to mind, what with all of his villain interpretations so far wearing suits.

Now we have the most gorgeous babe and the most physical villain out of the three movies.:clap

I REALLY hope Bane's costume design is a little more inspired than a guy in a suit with a mask!

To be fair;

Scarecrow - loved the mask with suit look. And the mask itself was fairly true to comic books

Ra's - him showing up in a suit at the end made sense. Loved the training scenes costume design.

Joker - genius outfit

Two Face - Loved the burnt jacket look.

Will bane have a mask? I think it could be a pretty loose interpretation of a giant friggin dude in a wrestler mask...It could go a number of ways...

Hardy as bronson is a scary big dude that will ____ you up. Maybe it's more about his fighting ability then his beefyness in this. not to tredge ____ up, but this is sorta like the white skin vs. makeup thing. Just have to wait and see what they do with him.

And if your so concerned with height, Freeman and Caine are both taller then bale and ledger. That means you have lucious and alfred that are both taller than the joker and batman.

I really doubt nolan would cast hathaway if he didn't think she was perfect, or capable, for what he has in mind. and catwoman is practically always sexy.

I'm not worried one bit.

I have one fear with Bane and one fear only. They did it in the cartoon as well as in Batman &Robin.

If Bane lifts Batman over his head and doesn't deliver the final blow I will be pissed. Either do it or don't do it at all. If I have to see him lift him over his head and then batman stab him in the arm or something I'm done lol

^ Well personally chances are 50/50.

While many may not agree, my money is on Batman being broken in the first act. It has been mentioned in other forums as well with people claiming to have inside knowledge etc.

But I don't claim to have any knowledge or anything - but my call is

1. Bane breaks Batman in the 1st act
2. Bruce rehabilitates himself in Asia during the second, which brings us full circle to Begins - maybe this is where we see Talia? In the meantime Gotham is finally without Batman who they had turned against. Yet now without Batman they truly see the value he brought, and Gotham without Batman is really bleak.
3. Batman 'rises' in the final act, defeats Bain etc. Ending is up in the air... Will Nolan end on the note that 'Gotham will always need Batman'... or will he draw a line under his interpretation and we see Batman retire at the end? I personally think the former.

Big question is...where does Catwoman fit in all this?

very solid points.....The question is how catwoman will be part of this...a mere distraction ?

I would think at some point Batman's name must be cleared. At the moment Gotham has been led to believe he is a cop killer.
