I think Catwoman will be the one that would help Batman in the end to defeat Bane instead of Robin since Robin is not the movie. Much like in the comics, she's the one that he turns to spiritually for support, that's why they have a great relationship in the comics and she's in my opinion the best romantic interest for Bruce more than the other girls.

They both have this co-dependancy to each other but neither one willing to acknowledge, specially Bruce.

^ yes I love that co-dependant relationship, you may well be right.

I think we'll start by seeing Catwoman as a burglar, bored in life, does it for the thrill.. and end with her genuinely helping Batman perhaps. Also maybe while Bruce is rehabilitating (if i'm right) during the 2nd act, she may sort of fill his spot in Gotham

I've been trying to think of Catwoman in Nolan's universe and I'm really curious to see how he's going to make sense of her name. I for one hope that it has nothing to do with actual cats and is purely related to the term cat burglar. My guess is a quick conversation between Gordon and Batman ala the ending of Begins with the Joker. Something along the lines of she's stealthy like a cat or Gotham's nicknamed her the Catwoman.

That would be ideal. But as long as she can order cats to attack Batman and to sneak into small holes and steal jewels/unlock doors from the other side, then I'll be fine with it.

I'm not saying these have to be talking cats, either, but that would be another plus. At least, they should talk to her with CG mouths like the Dr. Doolittle animals.

Anne Hathaway...ewww...Princess Diaries..torture on my eyes and ears.

As far as Hardy in "Bronson".. he wasn't that big. People always post that one pic of Hardy from the movie because with the lighting and the position he's standing in, he looks big. But when you see other pics from the movie you can see he was still pretty small even with the extra 40lbs he put on.

EXAMPLE:

Christian Bale was just as big if not bigger in Batman Begins.

I think people forget: Tom Hardy is only like 5' 9" maybe 5' 10" max.

So Nolan is either gonna have to use trick photography/CGI to make Hardy taller/bigger or he'll have to just re-imagine/re-invent the character and disregard his comic/cartoon physique and stature.

^ Well personally chances are 50/50.

While many may not agree, my money is on Batman being broken in the first act. It has been mentioned in other forums as well with people claiming to have inside knowledge etc.

But I don't claim to have any knowledge or anything - but my call is

1. Bane breaks Batman in the 1st act
2. Bruce rehabilitates himself in Asia during the second, which brings us full circle to Begins - maybe this is where we see Talia? In the meantime Gotham is finally without Batman who they had turned against. Yet now without Batman they truly see the value he brought, and Gotham without Batman is really bleak.
3. Batman 'rises' in the final act, defeats Bain etc. Ending is up in the air... Will Nolan end on the note that 'Gotham will always need Batman'... or will he draw a line under his interpretation and we see Batman retire at the end? I personally think the former.

Big question is...where does Catwoman fit in all this?

Maybe catwoman steps in in batmans absence, only with a more sinister approach, as in she wont care if she kills the bad guys or not.

Unless Nolan visually makes him bigger, I guess so. Because Hardy is only 5' 10" max and Bale is 6'. Bale is the same height as Leonardo DiCaprio and you can see in Inception that Leo was taller than Hardy. Hardy isn't even as tall as Gordon Levitt and that dude is only 5' 10".

And as far as "Catwoman".. I seriously think people are jumping the gun on that because it's possible she won't even be in the movie.

Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle has been confirmed. But WB and Nolan have made absolutely no mention of "Catwoman" being in this film. It's possible Selina Kyle might just be Wayne's love interest and the only villain/costumed character besides Batman will be Bane.

Because everything I've seen so far refers to Hardy as "Bane" and Anne Hathaway as simply "Selina Kyle". Haven't seen one official announcement confirming "Catwoman".

That's like saying you hope Batman has nothing to do with bats.

Yeah but with this being Nolans final Batman film it seems unlikely he'd tease fans with Selina Kyle and not show her as Catwoman.

I will be surprised if we don't see Selina Kyle as Catwoman. Maybe we wouldn't if there was another movie to develop her character, but this is it.

No, it's like saying he hopes Batman doesn't psychically control bats, or hang from the ceiling like a bat, or something retarded like Burton and the hacks who wrote/directed Catwoman would do.

It's also like saying he hopes she'll be a thief, like she has been in every good comic incarnation of the character.

I agree, I think Nolan is just being coy by not referring to her as Catwoman. I think it would be similar to the 2 face character.

If Nolan wouldnt have mentioned that this is his final, that is a possiblity but since this is his final Batman film, No way he's gonna use A huge character in Batman Mythos and only have her as a civilian. I'm without a doubt positive we'll see Catwoman.
