I was amazed to see Daniels so out and about with fans, young and old. It was great.

He's done that at every Celebration he has attended, even out in the rain at the first Celebration in Denver. But like Irish said, he isn't always that pleasant. For those who have ever worked his autograph line for OPix (like I have), we have witnessed some things that show his "Dark side." But, I have to give him credit for trying to be so accessible to the fans. George Lucas obviously made his career, and unlike Harrison Ford, Anthony is well aware of it, and embraces it. He loves being the one and only C3PO. I wouldn't be surprised if he has it arranged to be buried in the costume...

I have. After attending since 2004, then finally discovering Sideshow, then the board, I ended up meeting quite a few freaks there. Really enjoyed last year when I got to cross paths with you, my late night brother.

And especially dinner on Sunday night with Grue, Lonnie, Wetanut, LaMelnik, Jen, and many other fine folks. Really was an outstanding evening for me.

But still, there is a palpable fervor at a Celebration which simply cannot be matched at any other show, especially one covering so many disparate interests. Every freak you see in the photos in this thread are at the show with the same interest.

There's nothing like it!

I was glad to meet you. We are later night brothers and have had many good convos.

I can only imagine with how I feel about sdcc that others feel the same about celebration. For me there is nothing bigger than sdcc and how it makes me feel as a fan. This past year was the best camping out all night to see the hobbit panel and being just a few feet away from Ian McKellen. Plus I get hang out with freaks, SS folks, weta folks, torn folks, etc. if I go to a celebration it will be because I like SW and to hang with freaks. That to me would be so cool and why I want to see some of you to come to sdcc.

If I can I hope to go in a few years. I just want to go to enjoy it ... Not get sucked into all the exclusives and crap.

Due to it's location away from the Hollywood scene it can never be, but it is growing exponentially

I hope you can as well. I think you would dig the event. You can just skip the exclusives and have a great time

2. Dragon*Con
3. SW Celebration
4. NYCC
5. WonderCon (with MegaCon now nipping at its heels)

There's your list. Everyone here should try and attend one of these at least once.

I didn't make it to C6 due to other obligations. But I went to C1, C3, C4, and C5 and will most likely attend another. Hell, maybe even the one in Germany next year. It's a great time if you're even remotely into SW. Probably the best single-themed conventions for sure.

I need to get to a dragon con someday as well.

I also would like to do dragon con one day. Maybe we can plan as a group.

I don't think I could ever go to Dragoncon. I'd be stuck in autograph line all weekend!!

Dragon*Con is THIS weekend, btw.

I'm not a big autograph person, but I will likely be springing for a '66 Batman 8x10 signed by Adam West & Burt Ward.

The rest of the time I'll just be drinking and indulging in the Mardi Gras-like debauchery that is Dragon*Con.
