Really the same difference. Rosen you need to walk across 2 lanes of parking traffic, the Peabody you need to walk across 2 lanes of road traffic.

Cool. Thanks, Shropt!

Ok, final question on this matter (to anyone) - IF you had two kids in tow, which hotel? Sounds like the Peabody is too posh for children. :lol

Very nice. Kinda trendy and fancypants (Plush lobby and rooms, HDTV inside the mirrors in the bathroom, that kinda thing). But the best thing about is how damn close it is to the Convention Center. You literally walk right out the lobby door and directly across the street (where police stop traffic for you every time). During Celebration V, it was a cinch to go to-from the hotel & convention center, which was especially appreciated due to the oppressive heat & humidity.

I remember seeing that hotel last year while walking around. It did look pretty nice and sounds like it as well.

Since I'm rooming with a couple Freaks and would need at least two double beds and maybe a roll away, I wonder if we'd have better luck on those items by spending the extra money and staying there.

The Rosen room has 2 double beds and while booking the hotel room it asked if I'd like a rollaway bed included for $15 extra. I've never seen that offered before like that when booking a hotel.

I selected both of those options, but then saw a message that those requests wouldn't be guaranteed. :panic:

I'd better check in early on Wednesday for sure.

I didn't stay at the Rosen last year but I did have a fun encounter in the lobby. While waiting in the George Lucas line, me and a couple of friends had to use the restroom so we went over to the Rosen. In the lobby there was a guy just sitting in a chair with a box of beer chillin. He was a real talker while I waited for my friends to finish. He was just sittin and drinkin.

How are the rooms there?

Just a heads up that a large organization that will remain nameless may be stationing at the Rosen. I'd say if you want a room there then you may want to book before they finalize their plans. ;)

I just reserved my rooms at the Rosen Centre. Really can't beat $109 for how close that is to the con.

Atta boy, Shroptaaaaay!

I'm rooming with a couple Freaks and already booked the Rosen, but I wonder if the Peabody would be a little quieter and not quite as hectic as the Rosen may be.

Who wants quiet and peaceful? I want gangs of Star Wars fans and shenangigans. This is a party!

Oh God I hope that wasn't me.

1. Yeah, you may be right about that. It would make it more interesting.

2. :lol

Tell the guys at Acme to get my Death Star canvas done! :impatient:

EDIT: Hey, it shipped! :rock

I don't remember much about the conversation but I think I remember him saying that he wasn't there for the con. Just on business. He mentioned owning some vintage figures and stuff. That's about the extent of his Star Wars involvement.

Just know Swabie, now that you and I are at the same hotel we will be drinking together... a lot... all of the time... oh yeah!

Star Wars fun + drinking = woot!

Not to get off topic, but I am going to Star Wars in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl tonight (my second time seeing it). Gonna get drunk at the concert just to celebrate CVI. If you hear about a guy getting kicked out for running on stage to talk to Anthony Daniels during the show... please, please pool some resources and get me bailed out of jail. :thud:

And Shropt, I better be your +1 for the 501st party!!!! :yess::yess:

Nice dude. SWiC is pretty sick. I was lucky enough to go here in Orlando and it was better than anyone can describe.

As for the 501st party, we'll talk about that later. :wink1:
