Amazing River, Chris! Glad I'm on board for her. As soon as she ships out to Kuato I'll sign up for another project of yours, probably Mal.

Chris great work. I like what your doing with your ordering as well. Like the new site set up and yes bring on Milla!!! lol

Howdy!

Although I can't sell any more of my Lee Majors heads for a few months, that doesn't mean I can't paint them and show them! :D

I'm fairly pleased with how he turned out. I used powdered pigments for much of the color shading. It's a nice effect, I think. Once sealed they retain their vibrance yet become permanent.

Howes!! I didn't know you could paint!! wtf? :lol damn, man!

I teach, and at the moment we're in an examination period, so that's lot of organisation, lots of correction, and not much time to work on my 1:6 stuff. Moreover, I'm still working on a 1:6 figure I sculpted and made the clothes for at the moment. I still have to scratch-build a working sword cane before I pass on to another custom. Here's the guy, a vampire inspired by a role playing game I used to play (hope I'm not highjacking here!)

Well, I started life as an illustrator, so I could paint before I could sculpt, professionally..... but I'm afraid I pale in comparison to the masters like Kuato, Les, etc. :D

better than I can do. damn, man, I didn't know you were an all around artist!! :clap that's friggin sweet.

That paintjob really brings that sculpt to life!

Very impressive.

Very cool! BTW, it ain't hijacking if I ask! :D But I love to see other folks work anyway, so I don't mind if you share here. Always feel free to share your work here, guys.

Definitely has that Vampiric look. Looks hungry...... :horror

Thanks for letting us see him. Good luck with exams! My wife, Kim, was a college professor (graphic design, photography, illustration, etc.) for years, so I know first hand how stressful it can be.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. Throughout my career as a toy and giftware designer I've had to develop a broad range of skills such as illustration sculpting ,mechanical model making, mold making, painting, package design, etc., etc. I like to think of myself as a generalist. I always liked to be able to solve any given problem that was thrown at me and my team.

Whenever I hired a new young sculptor they assumed that all they would be doing was sculpting right from the start. Oh, no, my young friend! You work in my shop, you learn how to do everything. If they resisted and resented then I knew they wouldn't work out. Usually the arrogant self centered type. And those who accepted the idea with enthusiasm and were willing to learn all these other skills made for much better sculptors in the end. It gave them a feel for the whole process that they would have any other way. Plus they are self sufficient and can handle any project.

There I go rambling on again.... it's a sign of old age, "Why, in my day....." :D

BTW, speaking of being old, I mentioned recently that this momentous day was approaching. As of today April, 4th, I have been in the sculpting biz for 20 years. I still can't believe it's been that long, it seems like yesterday. Ah, well.

Hey Chris I've been trying to get in touch with you, your PM box is full. Just wanted to touch bases on some things, give me a call.

Hey Kimo!

I sent you something a while ago, did you get it? I'm not sure I have your number....

Drop me an email at the new address. It's [email protected]. I had to shut down the other email addresses due to Russian Spammers hijacking my accounts, using them as their return address. I was getting THOUSANDS of returned emails, mostly offering the services of certain very friendly Russian ladies and replica watches.
