Yeah, I'm not sure what the difference would be... but if anyone is emailing and not getting a response wouldn't hurt to try his suggestion just to rule out any chance of miscommunication.

I know he keeps telling us to use 'hello' as the title, but I don't get why he still hasn't just made a gmail account dedicated to these commissions and this forum. By doing that, he wouldn't have to ditch his domain and none of this would have ever happened. If I ran a business and the phone line that runs to my house gets hit by russian lightning it would be my responsibility to get communications back to 100%. I'm sure the many, many people who have sent him money have not all read his specific instructions about how to make his spam filter properly function..

Or you could just try "Hey Chris, howes it coming along with my stuff?" :rotfl

Well...it suspiciously seems that all the orders and positive letters get to his inbox fine. I'm just not buying the Russian spammer nonsense.

Yeah, how you haven't got a response for a refund yet is beyond me.

I have every idea the head will show up eventually. He just doesn't want to part with the money once he gets it, and I think a lot of people will be remembering that in the future.

edit- Even some folks here who have gotten through to him before have written him in my behalf, and surprise! They get no answer after that. If you apply Occam's Razor to this, the simplest answer is he ignores what he wants to.

I have nothing against the guy nor am I trying to fuel the fire from what has been previously said or that gives the chance for certain others (this isn't aimed at you) to jump the bandwagon. The thing is...

They get no answer after that. If you apply Occam's Razor to this, the simplest answer is he ignores what he wants to.

....that type of behaviour is the perfect example that would make it onto TV and get you plenty of coverage for BBC Watchdog here. Take the money and appear they do a run for it, even though he isn't doing a run. It's very shady though that he gives the impression he isn't very savvy with how to use email if his excuses are spam. It looks incompetent. There's plenty of people out there that get hundreds if not thousands of spam every day, even companies and they can filter out that stuff/block yet the client emails still get through to them.

It's a very weak excuse that everything else gets eaten up or lost in cyberspace. I also find it a weak excuse that the money must be paid in advance for the paints materials. I can understand if money needs to be paid up for fabrics. You can only keep that material for so long until it's used up, but he isn't doing materials. If somebody is in this job making money they should have materials to last a long time. Not when one job is up he has ran out of materials/paints/brushes and so on. He should have so much clay/putty molds whatever to last a long time. You wouldn't buy just enough to find "oops I've ran out". If somebody can't be honest like the way he is portraying if he is so called busy trying to get the work done but can't respond to refunds etc etc, there is a reason he is hiding something or for something. Or certainly gives the impression he hadn't started them trying to play catchup. Which could be all the hiding.

I'm in no way trying to accuse the fellow, bad mouth him or slag him as I don't know him but his respect for clients is inexcusable and it's showing. It comes across as contempt. After he delivers the goods he may have lost a lot of clients for future business. As has been said before it may not happen when they see the work. From what I have seen of some of his work it looks mighty impressive. Like that Lee Majors head. You could easily have said that was a production piece. Sadly I'm afraid he just doesn't show respect for his customers. It shows no professionalism.

Just a reminder that the House head has been shipped to some customers in the past week and they are happy with it. Don't want that to get lost in the rest of this thread.

i've been watching his threads like a hawk and I think only one person got a house head. i wouldn't say he was happy but more or less relieved.

I think you said that best of anyone on here. That very accurately conveys exactly how I feel. I'm still not mad at him yet, just disappointed that obviously some aspect of what is going on is hidden from us, and that he concocts excuses for not bothering to talk with everyone directly. Good public relations is important.

Are you serious about that Majors head? I've seen a lot of Steve Austin heads over the years but I wouldn't put that one in the top 10.

I so wanted this work to be good because he was offering many things I'm interested in.

I have the Major's head and thought it was done pretty well. I'm curious to know what one out there is better. Happen to have any pictures?

I just don't get your taste in sculpts my friend. You loved Ada's House, and now this about the Howes Majors? Different strokes I guess :monkey1

As was I my friend, as was I.

I can only judge it on the pic of it I saw on ebay. As such, I thought it was a poor Roger Moore sculpt rather than an attempt at Majors. Whether poor paint apps had a hand in it or not I don't know because I haven't seen it "raw". Just by that though, the Ada version, that I have, appears better and a much better likeness as do some of the "bionic-joe" versions and others that have been on ebay.

Loved? Don't know that I'd go that far, but, again, having it in hand and seeing the pics of Howes, I don't see Howes' being any better.
Overall, my taste in sculpts leans towards the best that I can get of the characters that interest me.

I'm sorry I ever fell into the Chris Howes Bandwaggon. His sculpts are horrible and his service is even worst.

After looking at collector49's pictures of his House HS. I would much rather have my money back then wait another 6 months before that ^^^^ty thing arrives.

You are not alone Gatack......Here we are a week and a half into the 2 week period that he was supposed to be shipping a lot of stuff and post major updates and only one person has received anything.....I do not see anything major happening in the next couple of days...

Looks to me like more smoke and mirror BS.....

Why don't we give him a couple more weeks, that turn into months that turn into a year plus.....NOT!!!!!

I am not trying to fuel anything here but I have been waiting for my stuff for 14 months now (supposed to have it in 4-6 weeks originally) and have heard all of this crap before...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

I am out $320 to this guy and will take what steps necessary to get what I paid for or a refund......

Careful now, his troops will be out to "question" you on your opinion.

eh his troops can say anything. I don't have to respond to them. I paid for this so I have everyright to ^^^^^ and complain until the sun goes down. lol

It looked good from the pictures on eBay.

I have no idea who that is. Any pictures of his work?

He even says people are not patient enough. Or don't have a clue how long it takes. 14 months isn't patient?

Quite right to be honest as that is a lot.
