Like most have stated there is nothing that can be done about recasters. I have absolutely no doubt that this fine sculpt will find it's way into a recasters' hands.

IMO the easiest way to atleast identifying those people is to number the heads somehow, and wofford having some kind of masterlist of those sold.

That way when they eventually make their way onto ebay or where ever that person or person(s) can be identified, and excluded from any future offerings.

Maybe Wofford can etch a number onto the bottom of the neck base? I guess that wouldn't prevent from someone sanding away the neck bask though.

How about I drop a little poop nugget inside each neck post? No one would touch it then, and it might serve as a good bonding agent between the head and whatever body you put it on. Be sure to wipe off any overflow though.

i don't think its a good idea for Andy to sign the COA's. he'll be putting himself in a vulnerable postion if he did so.

Damn, a sweet headsculpt and poo nugget! Awesome :rock

I don't know if numbering would do much as really only those here are gonna be aware of it. We can only hope that the sculpt stays w/in the confines of those that bought it originally... but seems pretty unlikely that would happen.

I vote picture of KD's balls and poop nugget. That should keep evil recasters at bay.

Recasting will hopefully not happen, at least if this project is safely here and not elsewhere. I still get a tear in my eye anytime I see a loose Andy B. Bond head on Ebay. :monkey2

Have any recast Andy B Craig heads turned up?

I'm not sure if they are recasts, but I have seen the occasional Bond show up on Ebay from time to time. Sometimes painted, most of the time not. I'm just hoping Diver4 doesn't get his greedy little recaster hands on it.

I might have to pay him a visit if it does ever happen... :cut

I do see a couple completed on the bay and they look suspicious.

I almost bought one from Andy just because it was such a good sculpt and I have no interest in Bond.

Lonnie Hale's method is to keep making originals available, to sell on eBay right where the recasters do, and to advertise by saying, "Why buy a crappy recast when you can have the original?"

Recasting is the bane of the customizing and GK hobby, and it starts when a recaster gets ahold of an original. I think one very good way to stop the recasting of this particular head is for those of us who buy it not to let it out of our hands.

The only way anyone could get a hold of mine would be to pry them out of my cold dead hand, and that just ain't gonna happen. Seriously though, I really wish there was some foolproof way to prevent any of these from falling into the wrong hands. I know mine will never get recast by anyone, but I can only vouch for myself, unfortunately.

Hey Josh, I know a team of vivisectionists who'd be more than happy to pay him a visit for ya. They work pro bono, too! :D

Same reason some people buy cheap knock offs of name brand designer bags and stuff like that, I would imagine. They really don't care that much, as long as they have one that looks like it, the fools! :monkey4

why would anyone want to buy a recast of a limited item??? you dont own the original , so wheres the fun in knowing you own a "fake".:monkey1

Also a lot of time the people don't know they are buying a recast... if you weren't aware of this project and you saw a kickass Bale sculpt you'd probably pick one up.

Did you think before you posted this ?

The whole problem is that its limited - if you want one and can't get an original then a recast is better than nothing.

Personally I like the way Lonnie handles things - and have bought many off him. I've also just bought some off Ada Chan and will keep buying them off her - but I'd much prefer that she didn't make them limited production as that is how recasters make their money.

After all its not the the recasters sell them any cheaper - if the original artist continues to make the product available then that's where I'll get it from - but that's not always an option.

Very well said.

@drunk_leprechaun (Don't know how to make another quote box :()

Of course there is pride in owning an original piece, but I've found myself on numerous occasions where my figure would be perfect if I had that rare headsculpt. I'm not saying I support recasting, but a lot of the time I find a HS that I would love to have but it unfortunately its out of production.
