I love the base that Bogart is placed on, it has a nice rustic look to it. Its just a nice simple clean design. Bravo!

By the way how many Humphrey Bogarts do you have? It seems you have one for each of his classic roles. What's next "Casablanca"? "The Caine Mutiny"?

I love almost all the movies Bogart starred in. Actually, when I found his sculpt on Ebay a while back, this "Treasure of Sierre Madre" layout was the first layout I did in 1/6 collecting. I think this movie not only had action, great characters, and great acting, but also a great moral message at the end...

After doing Bogie as Fred C. Dobbs in this movie, I couldn't resist doing him in some of his other movies and did Maltese Falcon, then Casablanca with a trench coat, then Casablanca (inside Rick's cafe, with Major Strassor) and finally in Sahara. The only role left of him that I might do is "High Sierra"...another great movie. I thought "The Caine Mutiny" was ok, with the best scene being the courtroom scene...

While not a classic tough guy, I thought everybody would get a kick out of Cary Grant. I just love this era of film. The guy who sculpted and painted it did a great job.

Nice rendition of another Bogart character, Jerry. Great work.

One question, though... Is he living under your kitchen sink?

I just can't wait until you make a Bogart from the film that introduced him to me... "Slick Hare"

It took until I was in my mid twenties until I realized that there was no rabbit meat in "Welch Rabbit". I only found out then, that Welch Rarebit was a glorified grilled cheese sandwich!

The other appearance of Bogart with Bugs was in "8 Ball Bunny" where he continually showed up asking Bugs if he could "help a fellow American down on his luck."

Great funny stuff. I just love those classic WB cartoons especially when they did the Hollywood stars like "Babbitt and Catsello" and "The Honey Mousers". I even remember them doing Jack Benny and Rochester as mice.

All kidding aside, your Bogart came out fantastic!

Ok, so I'll spoil the ambiance...he's sitting high up on a shelf in my basement where the water pipe leads out to my sub pump...so he's really part of the underworld:

Btw, I love those old Warner Brother cartoons as well. I may have been introduced to Bogie that way as well...I don't remember. It was either through them, or through the Saturday Morning movies they used to run when we were kids. Whenever there were time slots with cartoons I didn't like, I would turn to a channel that had old movies...

Edited response: Jim, I misread your original post...thanks for the Bogart post. I have one of him in his Casablanca white tux already...thanks for looking out for me though. If you ever find a 1/6 Model T, don't tell me , unless you don't want to buy it yourself.

I have to say, I really like these collages you've put together for Laurel and Hardy, Bogart and the Beatles. It is nice to see the different incarnations of these guys on one page so you can compare the different looks!

Hey, thanks Jim! I'm winding down building up my collections I believe...I"ll be becoming more of a spectator from here on out (unless there is something on an exception basis that I want to do). I figured I'd post the collages and go out with a flourish so to speak...your turn (once you move) to keep on with Bud and Lou...

the head sculpt is from Lonnie at Hero Heads which I painted but as far as what he's wearing, I made that myself. Finding a pattern to base it off of was a pain for sure. Not a big demand for a 30's-40's style double breasted suit pattern. Not too happy with the shirt and tie and I may end up replacing those eventually.

Don't know how I mssed this thread previously. I absolutely LOVE the tough guys [even the Kirk Douglas/Burt Lancaster movie!]
30's thru today the tough guys rule!
Always wanted an Aldo Ray sculpt. And a William Smith [NO one was tougher in the 70's]
