DA, I may try out this casting bit on my John Wayne head sculpt as well...hmmm, this might save us some bucks if it turns out ok. I won't be trying it for another week or so because I will be busy very next week..

What I found when I casted the Hot Toys Brando was that I actually liked the casted sculpt better than the original because the original is molded plastic. The resin version gives it more of a presence. Maybe that will work with The Duke as well...let's see...

Sounds great! Just let me know if it is possible to get a cast to re-sculpt! Looking forward to more updates on yours! By the way, final update on Elvis soon!

So, had a quick look to double check on Elvis' shoes being that similar loafer kind to what Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson wore and realised that he did wear them, but not nearly as much as a pair of shining white trainer like shoes that I just happened to have in black already, so I sprayed them white and added a light black weathering to them, might add a black line around the bottom on the shoes but very pleased with how them came out! Also shortened and moved the strap, shortened the microphone and added a wooden base!



I am currently re arranging my Detolf Cabinet! Got Elvis and two Jack Nicholson's set up!

Since I will be traveling for the next week, I couldn't resist throwing a few clothes together and taking a picture of Brando in what will take shape to be an "On the Waterfront" bash. I'm looking into several possibilities for jackets (the one he is wearing is temporary, although I may dye the fur black to see how it looks) and I also have an additional prop or two in mind to make...gonna be fun...here is a first shot:

Joel, you are too good! Yeah, one is going around his neck but I'm toying with the idea of another...

First things first though. I've inquired about the red checked jackets through a site that I have done business with before, Project Are Outfitters. They have a pattern that is red and black checked in their outdoorsman shirt section, and they are looking for patterns to recreate the jacket. If you are interested as well, you can email them directly. Maybe if they know they have two orders they can give a better price? They haven't quoted me a price, but all of their prices are (and have been) fair, and I have been very happy with their work...

I've just seen the film once again (wow, it was a great one, and so was Brando's performance). I took some close up shots of his face to see how close I can come to recreating it. His eyebrows and eyes are very pronounced..

Oh, and here is the other prop I'm thinking about...I would tackle it, but don't have the room! It may just be a dream, but it would be cool...again, first things first...take a look at the left side of this picture; wouldn't that make a great display?!

Haha! I try! Well I was going to ask the person who did my Elvis blazer to do the end scene jacket with the big fut collar as I quite like that jacket but I guess I could settle with the check jacket! Let me know what they say but I will see if the one I use could do the end scene one! Yeah! It is such as great film, possibly my favourite Marlon Brando film and there must had been some make up going on around the eyes and eye brows, around the eye lid area, they drop further down a lot more! But this should make the likeness easier to achieve! The roof top would look incredible! Might be time consuming but would just add to it perfectly! Really want this one!

Man, that has the be the best likeness and paint job that there is...I don't think you can get any closer! Scott Petersen is working on one which is supposed to come out shortly. I'm curious to see how close he comes...
