Oh, by the way did you make the props yourself?

If so you did a great job on the coffin!

I did make them myself, but I must admit I like what you did on your coffin a lot more!

I consider my dio kind of like the hor d'oeuvre before the main course, which is what yours will be when you get back to it.

Great figures Jerry and the props are excellent too, you always put such detail inyour posts.

Cheers,
Peter.

Thanks for your positive comments everyone! They are greatly appreciated!

Allow me the opportunity to post a few more pictures of them in the coming week or so. I spent a lot of time on this one, and although the dio still needs a few adjustments, I want to sit back and enjoy Bud and Lou in a few different poses...

Thanks for the links Jim! I'll take a look in the coming week or so...

Here's a pic I found on Ebay of an Art Carney figure (when he played "the Archer in Batman). I didn't even know he played a role in that series. The figure resembles him a bit...unfortunately the hat is sculpted on though.

I have to say, I'm really loving how this thing is coming together! Just keep the pictures flowing.

I was looking back at some of the pics I took of Stan and Ollie for the first dio I put together for their film "Blotto". That film has one of the most contagious giggling scenes in movie history. You can't help but laugh along with them...here they are....

Really great shots, Jerry!

I think you might have painted the coffin just a bit too dark because Dracula's crest is getting lost.

I just noticed the House of Horrors sign, it looks like you used my son's design for the lettering. I was wondering why you didn't use his lettering for the Dracula's Legend placard.

I also always enjoy seeing your Laurel and Hardy setups!

Re: Classic Comedians Thread - Laurel and Hardy, Marx Brothers, Jack Benny & others..

Hi Jim,

You are absolutely right on Dracula's crest. The stain is too dark, and you can't see it...I may adjust it as time goes on...

Again, I must totally (and admireingly) acknowledge you, your thread, and your son's work. Without it, I know that I could have never completed what you see in the pics. You have put a lot of effort, care, and time into these things. My only hope is that some of the little things that I added may help you complete your dio.

Your son's sign and lettering is amazing! It's almost my favorite part of the dio. But then I think of the stenciling and crate, which I got from you..again, amazing. Know that i kept waiting and waiting for you to complete your dio, but also knowing about your move, etc., i couldn't wait to put the sculpts of Bud and Lou to another good use...

Regarding the different lettering on the signs, I think when I was doing them, it just was easier to type them up...

Btw, the skeleton I picked up around Haalloween time, along with the rat...I think it adds a little something.

You gotta know that I love your hats better! I'm also interested in seeing what you do with the outfits because sewing is definitely not my forte...:panic:!

Hey Jerry, I think as far as sewing the jackets for Bud and Lou, I am going to try and hire a seamstress. I want the jackets to be perfect and the pockets and epaulets (I think this is the first time in my life I've used the word epaulets) will be a little too intricate and tricky for me to pull off.

The aprons hide any flaws I've made constructing the pants and the jackets will hide the flaws of the shirts I've already made. So, I really need the jackets to be perfect.

Re: Classic Comedians Thread - Laurel and Hardy, Marx Brothers, Jack Benny & others..

That's a good idea (to go that route) for the jackets. I did that for the collarless jackets that I used for one of Beatles dio's. I'm always looking (as you have I'm sure) to see if there is anything better offered online. If I find anything, I will post...
